When I was a younger man a 21 Cougar with a v drive was pretty much the epitome of holy shit balls quick / fast.

I always wanted one back in the day.. old adage not so much. Lol.

the owner wasnot around when I took the pics, but this is gonna he crazy cool when it’s done.

its funny some guys have had a lot of luck running these v-drive tunnels, others not so much. All I know is i've heard enough horror stories about the eliminators pod vs no pod, etc, that I'll play it safe.

it will be a conversation piece when its done though, i mean the tach does go to 11 after all!!

Many of the Cougar molds were for sale last year as a package, including the 22 and 27 MTR. There was a thread on Scream and Fly about someone that has them and is all in building the 22 under a different name, outboard only, Axiom Omega Designs is the name.

I think the 27 mtr mold is in New Mexico. Might be Kansas. I purchased a 27 Mtr with a 525 about 8 months ago but have not been able to use It much. I think it will be a pretty fun boat. I just need to get healed up so i can use it.

Magic/Sleek bought them? and after that I have no idea. Would be nice if someone updated the top decks of the MTR and started making them again.

Yeah, that's my thoughts exactly. I had the same shift lever in my 56 Chevy pick up back in the 90's. It works fine if you have brakes. But I can't imagine working that thing up and down to get it from 3rd to to neutral and then reverse. Otherwise the boat is fuckin bitchin!
