Went to Hallett yesterday with my pops to go pick up the boat from service. A lot of boats in for their annual service and a few 285's being built.

You're absolutely right! Jim has been doing the service on our boats for as long as I can remember and always goes the extra mile to make sure things are right!

Thanks DB! I wish I could take credit for it looking great, but it is my dad's boat and he spends quite a bit of time keeping it looking like new

It's a 98 340T with carbureted 500HP's, blueprinted carbs, Bravo 1's, full hydraulic steering and only has around 230 hours on it. They bought the boat about a year a half ago with 130 hours on it or so. It basically had never been used and it was actually family friend's boat that was sitting up at Hallett on consignment.

So far, this has been his favorite Hallett he's owned and I'll have to agree. The boat is so smooth and just flat out awesome to drive. No matter what Lake Mead tosses at you, it doesn't even flinch. Plus, I never thought having the carbs blueprinted would make such a difference. Prior experience found that long idles in and out of harbors would make the carbs "load" up a little, but with these, they don't do it at all. We cruised around Huntington Harbour for a few hours and it was perfect. Definitely adds to the ease of use!

Yea it looks great and is all around a much bigger boat. Obviously that tends to happen stepping up another 2 1/2 feet. The blue and green one that's being built right now has a 565 in it and all the Mercruiser Smart-Craft systems. It really is going to be a clean boat! I think Hallett is mainly building 285's compared to their other boats.
