OK, I purchased an Edelbrock Air Gap Performer 2R because in the literature it said it was appropriate for street applications. When I opened it up and set it on the heads, the intake does not cover the middle water jackets. Am I missing something? Or does Edelbrock just expect everyone to run the aluminum heads?

I don’t believe those are water jackets, they’re Blind holes surrounding the exhaust crossover. Some aftermarket manifolds don’t cover them. Can you take a picture and post it?

Those are heat risers. Shouldn't be an issue, some gaskets would cover them up.
