Air Shows?

Debating on heading to either the Reno Air Races or the Oshkosh Show next year. Leaning more towards the Reno Air Races. What say the inmates?

My friends own a company called Jet Aviva. They have a large presence at Oshkosh. I was supposed to fly out and attend with them this year, but couldn't get away. I'll be there next year for sure.

The Reno Air Races is a definite must do for any horsepower junky. The Unlimited races are absolutely adrenaline pumping excitement.

We love the air races in Reno. We had a friend that got us hooked up in the El Dorado Hotel area. Free food and drink all day, super comfy seating right on the tarmac, back stage passes to all the closed off areas, blah, blah, blah. Not sure I would enjoy at much sitting on the flat aluminum bleachers with no shade. haha!

It is amazing to see P-51s hauling ass. There was even a super rare real Zero there last time went. I love the T-6 class; not the fastest but boy do those trainers put out some great sound!

Reno for me.

A thousand plus horsepower with nitrous and a hundred pounds of boost with five feet chopped off each wing makes for some exciting balls to the wall racing. Makes nascar look like a bunck of fags.

Theres a large group of us pilots in Havasu that make the annual trip. Rooms are under a hundred at the casinos. I missed it this year but will be there for sure next year.

This is true. Its the 2nd annual. The Thunderbirds and Blue Angels will be there.

Last year I believe the military aircraft used Joint Forces Training Base - Los Alamitos, and other aircraft Long Beach.

If you want to see the show, NOW, drive to the end or Graham ST., south of Warner in HB. I live there,. We just had 4 in formation at 200' off the deck over our house!

Our friends have an Essex. There house is right across the street from the park with a basketball court out front.

Anyone going to the air show this weekend pay close attention to the weather. We were on the beach till 3pm yesterday and the fog never lifted. We heard a few fly overhead but we couldn't see a thing, must have been The Stealth Angels. Turned out to be the best air show we never saw. The funny thing is that a mile inland the sun was shinning bright and those jets could be seen. Look at this HB cam to see the live conditions...

After attending the fog enhanced stealth air show we went to the fall festival at the corner of Indianapolis and Magnolia. Good family entertainment and well organized...

Can't beat the blues. One of our cousins flew #2 slot in the mid seventies. I must have been at every air show on the west coast when I was a kid. Great memories
