The CDC predicts that at least 12,000 Americans will die from the flu in any given year. As many as 61,000 people died in the 2017-2018 flu season, and 45 million were infected.

How many have died, world wide, this year from the corona virus?

2,462 deaths out of 78,811 cases. Worldwide. Seven times the death rate of seasonal flu. Worldwide.

Since you are posting numbers, here are a few numbers taken directly from the CDC. In 2019 nearly 43,000,000 Americans were infected with the common flu virus. Approximately 61,000 died from that virus. That is roughly a .15% fatality rate. Not much to be concerned about I agree. So far, more than 81,000 people worldwide have been infected with the Coronavirus. Approximately 2,700 have died from that virus. That is roughly a 3.5% fatality rate, approximately 24 times as much as the common flu. I am not saying anyone should freak out, but don't kid yourself that you shouldn't be concerned just because the fatality rate for the common flu virus is much lower than the Coronavirus. I agree that it is concerning and worth watching closely, especially since so very little is really know about the Coronavirus compared to the common flu virus. Just my opinion ......
