I watched it a few more times, I bet the air bag did a number on the guys face. Its funny because it deploys AFTER the truck is on the ground and the impact is over . But in reality, if I were the same dumb ass, I would just back off as well.

I was thinking boulders, or dirt banks, embankment, something that might produce a similar drop & rocking motion. I wasn't aware that kind of motion would trigger it.
I know my neighbor who spends his life in the desert east of San Diego doing offroad development work for Ford has mentioned unintentional airbag deployment, but more from landing hard after a jump.
