Launched the boat, started it and went to go in revers and back on the trailer. Boating would of been awesome but we still had fun at the beach. Tahoe is absolutely empty this time of year.

Bummer. Wonder how often that part breaks.

Tahoe is absolutely beautiful this time of year, in fact we were supposed to be there this weekend but decided to stay home.

I'd say replace it with a die cast one off of an omc/Volvo from the crossover years. Just about every engine has one of them guys mounted on it

Its the cable end that broke. The white plastic part is what broke and that's part of the cable end. My uncle had his break on his hoot foot before out on the water. It was pretty funny how they got it back though cause he rigged his emergency pull start rope to the throttle arm (Merc outboard) and my buddy steered while my uncle worked the throttle from the back seat. Whenever it was smooth water, my,uncle would gun it without warning Nick and he would freak out. The boat would go from 40 to 60 real quick.

There's 5 or so shops around the lake, if start calling or get one overnighted from teague or who ever is closer that's have one in stock.

The white plastic part is not part of the cable, it's just an adapter held in place by the spring clip to the right of the break.

Not the OP's deal but that's what one gets for using adaptors. I see a Merc cable, a 33c universal cable w/ said broken adaptor and a OMC cobra cable anchor. What the hell is that mess????? What the hell is anchoring that merc type C cable. Once again, what a mess. Jeez, have some one that knows what they're doing re-rig that crap.

Thats what I meamt. The post i was quoting I thought was referring to,the actual cable stay and not the end adapter.
