I didn't exactly catch it. But when I was three, hooked one that was dragging me into the water from a sandbar in the Ohio river. My dad had to grab me or who knows where I would have ended up.

39" northern pike. Through the ice, in upper Michigan.

Typically only fish in the winter time. Summer is for catching bottle bass.:)

...Box of 12 Gordon's fish sticks my biggest catch...

When I was a single man I'd catch a 30 pack of Gordon's and 30 pack of CL's for Sunday night football. Man those were the days.

I've caught a number of saltwater fish over 60lbs.

Hooked some decent sharks but cut the lines rather then mess with them. Managed to drag a 150 lb stingray onto shore years back. That was pretty cool see, but like reeling in a sunken engine block.

Biggest thing I've hooked and brought to the bank was an 8' gator. I was wade fishing in a slew off a back bay for redfish. The damned gator grabbed my hooked redfish and I played with the damned thing for 30 minutes, forcing him up on the bank about 30 yards away and decided it was a good time to just cut my line and let him work on digesting dinner as I exited the area......:yikes:skull

When I was about 14. I caught a 38lb King Salmon near the BC and Alaskan border. Most of my family is into sports fishing. My same age cousin worked in a tackle shop, made custom flies and fishing rods, they started the job around age 13. Oh I should mention she! My Dad had a 22 foot Boston Whaler for fishing. Twin 150 black max's on the back. One of the motors died and we headed home pretty fast but not on plane with the other motor. I left my rod in, even after arguing with my Dad. He wanted to give up fishing and go home. He thought it was a waste of time because although moving slow, it was too fast to troll in his mind. Second we had been using live bait and not set up to troll. When the fish hit and I told my Dad. He got pissed off because he thought the hook got caught on the ocean bottom. Anyway, he was wrong. It was a total fluke that I caught the fish. We stopped at a marina to get the engine fixed. I cleaned the fish. I put it in the cooler on ice. We got back to our local marina. They had a fishing derby going. I entered my fish and won 2nd prize and it was cleaned. It was not only the biggest fish........... It was a fun trip.

I caught a 4lb Crappie with my grandpa one time which is quite big for that fish. The absolute biggest fish is most likely a 10-15lb carp. We'll fish for them with a mixture of corn flakes, big red, and strawberry jello. well.

back in the day, I worked at Turners in fountain valley while I was in school and fished almost every day. lead up to now, no fishing boat and I haven't even bought a license this year:grumble: heres a couple oldies, the bat ray was caught of the freelance around 2 in the morning in Newport harbor, we used to jump on the twilight boats and then fish of off the boat at the dock and get stupid drunk with the crew and sleep on the boat. the lobster was off of my old 4winns that I gutted and ran as a fishing boat until the transom rotted out. lobster was in long beach harbor around white's island. 58 lb catfish. In November we drift fish across the lake with 6/0 hooks and cut fish for bait. Some days we'll catch and release 500 lbs of cats.

They're too old and tough to eat.

65 pound king salmon out of Ship Creek in downtown Anchorage, Alaska

We used to get kings out of ship creek right by the base golf course using a rock in a sock!

My records in Alaska are a 64 lb King at soldotna, 48" pike out of the koyokuk, 204# ( as I recall) halibut out of homer, and a 32" rainbow.

Got huge lake trout at Tyone lake, but didn't measure or weigh them.
I'll hunt up the pictures tonight.

Living on the Oregon coast I caught several kings over 42 pounds and many steelhead at 15 pounds but my proudest was a 22 pound steelhead. That was a fight to the finish, brush, trees and rocks all on her side and in the end she went back into the water at Sixes river. Also many lings at 40 plus.

Catching big lings ae fun. Buddy coughs this one a few years ago while we were fishing from Trinidad in Arcada. I've only caught ones half this size. Been trying for that 40+ myself.
