I have a 45+ year old Obrien wood water ski that needs to be refinished. Anybody in Havasu that does this?

Haven't heard of anyone, but if you could take off the bindings etc. maybe a cabinet or furniture repair shop. I'm pretty worthless, but even that's something I might attempt on my own ski.

This is actually pretty easy. Take off the bindings and then sand the ski down with various grits until smooth (not trying to get down to the wood but just removing some of the outer sealer) and then recoat with a polyurethane clear applied with a foam brush. Put the bindings back on.

I spent my youth watching my father refinish his Chuck Sterns built slalom ski, and I’ve known some other wood ski builders (Bob Maher and Mike Bemis) and seen what they do.
