This was all over my local FB groups so after seeing it here too I had to try. Pretty sure not gravitational reasoning but hey, it’s standing on its own.

Now if they can get a shovel to do this,Cal-Trans can lay off 1500 workers..:)
if the weather doesn't bring some Storms in, Caltrans will layoff the PI's ( Permanent Intermittent ) for sure, shovel standing up or not.

I first saw this at Knott's Berry Farm as a kid more than 40 years ago during a show. Tried it when we got home, and like this thread shows, it works.

It has nothing to do with the moon or anything else...

Worked here. The wife looked it up. I guess it works all the time. Today isn’t special.

WHAT?!?!? Are you saying the internet lied to us? No way!

My wife was buying it too until I informed her that as long as the CG is above the base (bristles), it'll stand.

I remember doing it a work 40 years ago. Damn warehouse size pushbroom took some talent.

Ohh FFS.. just happened to be watching a tv show right now called "Beyond the Unknown" and this shit just came up. It was part of a act started by a guy in Gold Hills, Oregon in 1904 at the "Oregon Vortex, House of Mystery".. was a new episode tonight so that explains all the hype today..lol o_O🤬

Pulled into the driveway and opened the garage door to see a broom standing by itself. The kids had fun with it and made some funny videos.
I picked it up and tried to make it stand. It kept falling over. Whatever, Ain’t nobody got time for that!

What's the big deal?! Decades ago brooms learned to do more than stand up...
