Anyone ever repaint their door handle?

wanting to tape off and paint my entry door handle. I don't want to go through the hassle of removing it from the door.

would steel-it work well for this? or is there some recommended rattle can from home depot??

Handle is currently black... just faded and wearing out. Pic attached

Tape it off? It’s your rig, do as you like. But I just fired 3 different painting outfits in as many weeks because apparently there is no translation in Spanish for the phrase “remove the hardware from the doors before painting, don’t just tape it off, it looks like crap”


I don’t think a new handle is going to cost $100 and yes, paint will wear off

Steel-It will not work, it only sticks to bare metal.
The handle on my old motorhome had been re-painted with a rattle can and it never quite looked right, but I think that was due to a lack of care and craftsmanship.
In my opinion, paint it with a rattle can and if you don't like it you're only out the cost of the paint and a little masking and no worse off than you are now.

RV? I did mine. Pull it off, scuff and spray it. So far no issues. Wish I would have done it earlier.

Takes 5 min to remove it. Easier than masking it.
