Need to rehome 4 tortoise, in CA. Moving to AZ, and cannot take them. You will need to get the proper permits to have them, but easy to do. Pete

Tortoise.org has the forms, easy. We have two big guys, and 2 smaller. Need 2 be fed every 2-3 days, ours like romaine and kale.

We've had ol Donatello for.... shit at least 30+ years now and he was full grown when I got him. He's got to be in his 70's.
Love that goofy bastard!

But
Why would you need a permit?
And who would ever know if you have one?

We have 2 and they are only of the only animals that crap where they sleep! We haul them back and forth to AZ when we go. Ours love Romain also.

Rexone was involved in desert tortoise rescue. Give him a PM

Lettuce isn't the best for them...mostly water. Mine has a run on the side yard and I found (online) a desert turtle seed pack, grass etc that are native. Turns out they are the weeds I normally pull. He gets veggie scraps on occasion, bu mostly just the grasses on the side yard.

Try contacting Ca turtle & Tortoise club, they may have adoption leads or the suggestion by Magic Mike above.
There is also a tortoise rescue out by Malibu somewhere as I recall.

I have too many now that will outlive me (I'm old, they're young), I can't take any more, unfortunately.

Can't be let loose after being pets, something about respiratory problems.

Can’t you take them to Arizona or are you moving to a climate they can’t handle?

In contact with humans they get a virus that can be deadly to wild populations. I don't know why you couldn't get then to AZ though...

I have 2 sulcattas. I wouldn’t mind more. Mine eat and drink daily and are pretty active. The other one is about a quarter of the size. I just moved him outside recently. He was inside the theater room for a while.the goats got moved to the back pen where they have more space

Don't have the room at our AZ place. Living Desert no longer accepts tortoises. Left an e-mail with tortoise.org at the lower desert chapter. BHCvic wants more??
