One of my dad's Volkswagens. That thing really flew LOL.
Sorry crappy picture of a picture
Well when you think about the beating of Volkswagen takes to make it run 10s, or do a thousand miles out across the Mexican desert in race mode, or the abuse from a sixteen-year-old trying to learn to drive a stick, floating across the sky at 2800 RPMs consistently is nothing.Cant tell from the picture, I love me some VWs but flying in an airplane with a VW for the propulsion, aint one of them.

But most people look at it the same way that you are.

I've been watching these things for a bit now. The only way you are getting something decent on the cheap is going 1960 and up (project but can find decent runners) or the friend hook up. If you start searching pre 1960 the you can add at least 2k-3k on just about everything. I've come across some good starting projects for under 2K. And a ton of runners (non full restor or show car) in the 2k to 4k market in the LA/Inland Empire market. But those are your basic 1600cc and under no frills drivers. I've set it in stone that my other two sitting projects will be back on the road before I jump into another project so the actual search is over... now it's just entertaining to see what's out there.i want to get a project bug to work on. I’ve always liked them. I want to put a healthy 2276 turbo in it on race gas to drive around in, disk breaks, and a rag top but not convertible.
What is the going rate for project bugs?
Anyone else have them?
... I was just informed that there is an 18 window bus and a full sunroof bug down the street from me in a backyard ...I’m going to go sneek a peek ...tomorrow
Be sure to count the windows [emoji6]
