5g on the horizon.
We’re streaming off the phone via HDMI cable now and it works good.
We have unlimited data never seems to slow Down nor buffer.

Haven’t tried Direct. Would like to hear tips, tales and takes.
New RV ordered Has smart TVs want to avoid the cost of satellite if its obsolete.

Have been thinking about going this route as well. My buddy uses Direct TV now and streams free over his phone with ATT in his motor home and swears by it.

The only issue I could see is when you have crappy cell service in the middle of the desert. Also not sure about local news channels.

Another this was the Amazon Firestick using your cell hot spot.

Thanks for the takes.
We’ve been getting better and better cell service signal in the desert.
4 bars Verizon at EC.

Direct told us standard def sat service is no more so our system at EC is obsolete.

We streamed a few movies and in one evening burned through 7.4 gigs of data.
When it defaults from 4K to 3k and EC is half full forget it. Just buffering.

HD system will be $2k for the auto tracker.
Probably a bit more. Can’t justify that.

When 5k hits I’d wager they will find a way to fuck us.
It ain’t going to be cheap or in the customers favor.

Not sure if standard def direct going away is accurate. We have direct sat on our moho and get most channels. It just takes a different box than hi def. and no dvr capability

TPC, one great thing about the HD RV dishes, it's rated for 60mph winds. No problems for mine so far in 3 years.
I found a guy on CL to install a HD on my rig, everything included for $1550 cash, no tax. I think it was well worth the cost.
My dish doesn't track while driving but once parked, hit a button and it's good to go in about 4 minutes automatically!
