I call BS...

I was cooking dinner one evening and chopped up a Jalpeno, then took a piss without washing my hands first.... Wholly fuck the burn, ended up taking a cold shower to keep the pain at bay and get that stuff off of me.

Unless that salsa was just tomatoes you ain't t-bagging your junk in there.

I thought so as well but apparently he has been arrested so who knows. Funny enough a buddy made his ole lady dinner a while back with something hot he had to chop up and shortly after dinner he really really ruined "dessert" with whatever he still had on his hands LOL she was not amused and almost went to the ER in tears screaming :)

We went out to Yardhouse in Temecula, 2 Sunday's ago. We went at 3pm, because with our crew, going at dinner time is a gamble if we get a table fast or not.

We ordered our drinks and then I got up and told the waitress that we were celebrating my daughters birthday. She asked me if she liked Chocolate or Vanilla. Thought it was handled and she would bring it out so that we could sing happy birthday to her, since I was traveling on her real birthday and didn't know if I would be home in time.

Well, anyway........after waiting for 10 minutes just to get boxes, being given the wrong check and them forgetting about my daughters birthday, I left her $10 on a $90 tab and wrote "you forgot my daughters birthday".......

My friends have always called me Mr. Pink because I take restaurant service seriously. We are paying overly inflated prices for food and alcohol in exchange for good service, good food and a good experience. The minute you walk up, your tip is on the line. Screw up once, twice or three times, I am knocking that shit down....

Just today, I went to lunch and literally had a WOW experience. She got 30% because I was literally blown away by not only her service, but the owner of the restaurant coming up and saying hello to us. It was awesome!

We go to the Yardhouse in LB...because we live here. The wife always orders her steak rare....they always bring it well done. The second one comes rare. After the second dinner, we started telling the server about previous experiences....same thing happens. After the 4th time, I told the server that if she brings a well done steak there will be no tip, as I'm getting pretty pissed about sitting there with my food getting cold while I wait for them to bring something edible for the wife. They still fuck up. Good news is, the dogs eat good every night we go to there...cuz we bring 'em home a well done steak, and I save money because I refuse to tip after warning them. This has been going on at least twice a year for 10 years.

We try to tip 20 % when out and we always give the pizza guy 5$ even though we pay a delivery charge . It bugs me though people expect a tip at places like jersey Mike's. If you drive it to my house sure . Put extra meat on it sure . Because you stood behind a counter that's set up to perform " your job " I don't owe you.

What keeps you coming back after 10 years? There are a lot of good restaurants around that would likely get it right the first time.....

My wife and I have a saying we use once in a while.
“The last time we ate at xyz restaurant is The Last Time we ate at xyz.”

We would have applied it to that place long ago.;)

We tip well because we both worked in food service and bar industry on our way to wherever we are now. That being said, we don’t dine out or drink much out.

If we don’t like the food or service where we went, we don’t typically go back.

Those people have a tough job because they deal with entitled, mostly new money assholes for a living. Hopefully they are doing it as a means to an end and not a long-term living.

Funny you brought this up tonight

Wife and I were out last night running around and we stopped in at Chile’s in Escondido, I really like the enchilada soup. Our waitress could not get one thing correct!

Ice tea with extra ice and a separate glass of ice, for my trophy wife! - my wife likes ice.... Tea arrives with zero ice and we have to ask again for the separate glass of ice...

My endless bowl of enchilada soup arrived with out a soup spoon. I recieved an ice tea/salsa type spoon.... I even tried to use it- although it wasn’t cutting it.

These are just a couple of the many things she’s messed up on

These are all very simple requests for a food server, I would think......I’ve never been a food server, we spent over $50 bucks and she got a whopping $3 or 4 bucks!

I'm a great tipper for this very reason. Also I've come to realize if you frequent a place and tip well you start to get deals so the tips pay for themselves.

I love it when they take your larger orders without writing anything down! And it comes all screwed up. Extra helpings and less tips. When I get great service ,they get great tips.

I worked as a server at the Dennys of temple and mission. Was a fun job and I made a lot of money. Take home 200 in tips no problem. I worked graveyard and the drunks were my favorite

To this day I hate it when the server tries to be cute and memorize everyone’s order rather than write it down. I believe it is their job to minimize any opportunity for errors in my dining experience.

8 of us went to Tail O the Whale at Bridge Bay Resort at Lake Shasta a number of years ago. Larry the waiter comes over to take our drink order.
6 Bloody Marys, with 4 different Vodkas and some extra spicy, some not, extra olives, onions, etc and 2 Screwdrivers. Halfway through the order, we asked if he was going to write this down, he said No. Finishes the order, repeats it back to each exactly as they had ordered. Comes out with the drinks and serves them, everyone got exactly what they ordered. Ordered breakfast, same deal, eggs were ordered 8 different ways. Never wrote anything down, orders were perfect.
He was tipped very well.
We went in the next morning and he remembered exactly what vodka and how each wanted their drink prepared. True professional.

I always tip 20-25%. On the rare occasion I don't, the server really has to fuck things up.

If it's delivery, I usually tip $5-10 depending on the size of the order.

If it's a cocktail in the $2.50-10 range, it's always a $2 or $3 tip depending on how much cash I have in my pocket.

@GRADS is correct, tip well and you get taken care of.

Some people have a gift for that kinda thing. My wifes family owns a couple restaurants and she can do the same...blows me away! Yet if i ask her to grab me a few things while at the market she always forgets

It's not always the servers screw up. Food runners will mess it up. Line cooks, reg cooks. Unfortunately the servers gets the low tip for others not doing their job.
Also, if your service sucks, look around. Are they under staffed? This means your server is working harded for a lower tip. That's manager issues.

I always try to not skimp if its apparent the server is getting screwed

Normally I use 20% as a standard and work up or down from there as to how much tip your going to receive. Want to guarantee you will get a 0% tip? Just drop off our cold food and not return until it’s time to drop off the bill. That seriously pisses me off to no end!

Now on the other hand if your service is exceptional and the food is delicious I have been known to tip between 30%-50%.

Wanna blow away a server that has gone beyond all expectations? Tip the Tab! Ie: If your bill is $48.50 then tip $48.50 for a total of $97.00. Expect even better service next visit :D

Oh, one exception on tipping for take out is I tip sushi chefs while waiting for my order. The place I go the most, tosses in extra rolls or last time they added some mackerel to my sashimi order.

How do you like your balls? With salsa or guacamole :D
I tip well. I used to be a waiter at Coco's. Usually %18-20. It's only a few extra bucks and I can afford it.

My Wife and Son say I'm a bad tipper , I honestly tip according to the service and never have believed in "cursory tipping" and If I saw a "blanket "tip charge " I'd walk out ,,,, Josh and I eat lunch around A town once a week very often we eat at the same chokenpuke A town deli.. we like a booth for comfort and privacy and are willing to wait for one . a month or so back we walk in to this place , theres a list tobe seated we specify a booth and chill looking at the nickle shopper , several people on either side of us come and go and are seated finally we get called and were escorted to a "communal table" (i'm pissed now) I say fuck it, they take our drink order an give us time to decide , Joshes diet Coke is syrupy" and she brings me a Bud (ask for a BL) then to make matter worse we watch folks seated after getting their food (were being punished) long story short 15 more minutes We say screw this, and get up to walkout , I put a 10 on the counter and tell the manager/cashier this should cover the drinks I was serene with simply leaving right?? No she "demands" to know why (wrong choice ;)) so I tell her in as polite terms as I can muster about the poor customer service , whats next you ask? she comes around the counter yelling and shaking her pointy finger and telling us "get out your not welcome here" , I guess I might have made things worse at that point when I told her to Fuck off ?

I suppose they know ahead of you getting your check if you deserve nuts in your salsa, eh?
If you send food back, for whatever reason(legit or not), then I tend to be more cautious of what comes back.

That Guy should be in Congress because he could at least remember what he said and promised, not that he would after a few years of service and learning the ropes of the gig

Manager comes over looking like a 6yo whose gonna get an ass whoppin and my buddy proceeds to tell him how great the waitress was, he thanked us and bought us a round of drinks. I use to just double the tax and that was for just everyday average service, good or great service more like 20%, it kinda depends on the situation like the amount of people in your party, a large group that is a bit rowdy and he or she can keep up with food and drinks then a large tip is in order, if it is just me eating lunch quick and dirty then a couple bucks should be fine considering a lot of people would not leave anything. But tell me why you should tip based on the price of what you had to eat, I could just have a good salad or a giant prime rib they would still have to serve me basically the same? But what do I know.

I always tip at least 20% if the service is decent. For bars/restaurants that I go to often, I'll leave a bigger tip. Its nice to walk into a bar and get your regular drink of choice without having to ask for it.

$100 of course!
I just gave it to him in a envelope after getting my change. Told him it was for the pretzels thanks for going out if his way to get them back on stock. The other 2 employees could care less when I asked them. This Guy cares about his customers and he does not own the place rare these days.

We stayed at Bridge bay a few times, same time of year.
Same story about Larry. He’d serve our table of 10-12 for dinner, no notes, then he’d be there serving us for breakfast the next morning.
Very impressive.

I tip a lot. But here in the Wichita, KS market tipping has come to some order at the counter places and I don't know. At Gambinos pizza they swivel the card reader deal over and you are given the opportunity to tip one of several % options. And we always go buffet at the place. So I asked the somewhat attractive young women who was it that shared in the tip and she replied just her. I thought that was a load of crap because the others were stocking the buffet and cleaning the tables etc.

I agree, why is it based on price, I have had great service at Denny's, and okay service at a high end place. is it really fair the tip is much higher for ok service just because 15% is a bigger number at the higher end place than it was at 25% at Denny's ?

I tip the delivery drivers just like we do at restaurants. When the order is taken they give us an ETA, the deliverys are always way quicker than the ETA and frequently with an extra on the side.
