When it comes to Jets, Tom is the place I go for parts and advice. While life has slowed down my project, I am still excited about it and still have lots of work for Tom and his son Josh to do.
Welcome to the front page Tom.

Tom,
I always wanted a jet boat and have a great deal of experience with surface drives and stern drives alike.
I've been a master machinist for 34 yrs and can design, make or fix just about anything. I am very blessed, and would like to
Know if buying a v-drive and converting to jet would be a huge mistake or nightmare undertaking?
I like the boat, but here in south Florida, it sucks having a stern or v-drive system. Please explain what and why
Of the pro's and con's to this. I'm a native San Diego, and plain to return back in the next 5 yrs with boats in tow.
Thanks and have a blessed day, Dean.

Ok, could you pls give a bit more detail? Aside from moving motor fwd, what is the nightmare?

What are the advantages the v-drive has? I just bought the v-drive and have not actually gotten it wet yet?

new transom, filling the hole, setting the jet( pita by itself) most likely new stringers, floor and then there is the whole was the boat designed for it? most v drives are purpose built, where most older jets/ out boards are pretty much interchangeable.

Ok, gotcha! I guess that answers that question. I'll just enjoy the v-drive. Now I just need some Maint and replace all the interior and guages to be ready. Thanks for the info. Dean.
