I stumbled across some articles on this dude Kazuki Ohashi out of Japan that’s bagging and customizing Ferrari’s (and other exotics). At first I was like WTF?! but the more I look at them the more I really dig ‘em. Not a big fan of the butterflied wheels but that testarossa looks SICK AF on the ground as do the others.

Curious to know what baggin a true performance exotic does to the handeling. But the cool thing is he’s doing it to pretty much outdated tech vehicles anyway. Not like you want to take your 89 testerossa to the track and get smoked by a stock Dodge Challenger. 😂 so, kinda cool to customize these cars.

I was saying the same thing at first. But the more I looked at them the more I liked them.

If I had FU money I’d have him do me a 512.

Air bags have come so far from even what they were ten years ago. My caddy has been at the shop getting bagged with the latest technology and I’m blown away at the possibilities. It’s a far cry from my previous setups.

I dig these cars getting laid out. I think it’s something different that adds to an exotic.

The way I've always seen it, if a guy wants to do something to their car, why not? If they have the ability, or the funds, it is their choice. My wife hates chopped tops on cars, says they look "stepped on". I've taken a saw to a few...

This is more costly, but no different than lowering or lifting a 1ton. Both change what the vehicle was originally designed for and make it "personal". It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but that's what makes it different.

Nope don't look good. Watched an episode of top gear where they drove a couple of exotics around town just to see how practical they are in everyday use. They were getting high centered all over the place trying to get over normal garage ramps and curbs. Doing that to a car worth hundreds of thousands of dollars probably kills your resale as well as your warranty.

I would agree with you if it had a chevy or ford badge on it and they produced 100,00s to millions of them . Unfortunately i think we will see a lot more of this due to ridiculous salaries atheletes make .

That’s a no from me dog..
Part of the joy in owning something like this is driving it. Seems like this takes away from that.

99% of them don’t drive them. I can’t quite wrap my head around that. I’m now at a point in life that something semi-exotic is a possibility. I’d drive the living shit out of it if I had one. The issue with driving them is that they lose value, considerably, after doing that so I don’t pursue them. My vehicles and boats get run hard. Never saw the use in a garage queen other than satisfying your ego when your buddies stop by 🤷‍♂️

It's an extremely stupid financial decision (a stock Testarosa will always go up in value, this won't). But nobody ever said sports cars were a wise investment lol

Tank and I were discussing it one day after I went to a Ferrari event
When you go boating event all the boats are different for the most part
With the Ferrari group it’s like well mine has red stitching
Or the wheels are custom

I’m definitely not a fan of the bagged rigs but at least it’s something different and not like all the rest

I think these cars are too important to be modified in this way. The negative camber cheapens these cars, that's something you do to a civic.

Bagged is different from that “stanced” look where the wheels are made to ride at an extreme angle with a tiny tire stretched to a wide tire and usually the suspension is basically static dropped… meaning ZERO suspension. They’re not bagged… It’s by far the dumbest thing to ever be done to the car community.

I wonder what a guy in Japan, that put air ride on a Ferrari, would think about a half million dollar roll bar boat designed to suck 5000lbs of water into it's hull?
He probably wouldn’t think about it at all.

Which I respect because I don’t either. Lol😉😁👍

I think that's the thing. I think it's great people want to spend obscene amounts of money to do things like this.

Just in the past year or two I've taken a customer's car that made it 80+ years without being hotrodded, only driven 30k miles, and gutted it like a fish. If it were my own car, I would have let it be. Guy who owned it wanted it changed. His car, his money...his choice.

What I don't get, why the guy did the negative camber deal. If he modified the geometry, he could keep it from looking like a lowered oval window. If that's the look he was after though, great. To me, looks a little too cartoonish, but it's not my style.

Oh Tankster..... disclamer; its 4am and I'm deep into party mode till sunrise.... but no no no.... we just can't endulge doing this to Ferraris.... I had dinner tonight with a guy whose family has maybe 20 and I shudder to think what they woud say. I'm with you [in spirit] on slamming your duallys but for Gods sake let the exotics remain.... love ya regardless.

Not for me........................ I almost bought a TR when they sold for $60k CAD not too long ago. It was slow by modern standards, but still fun stock.

I totally dig the Japanese style on muscle cars, Harleys, and JDM’s. Not sure I’m down with doing that to a Ferrari though.

Not quite so terrible as others. i think i would still prefer 17s or 18s with white walls tho
I like it...in person, it is massive! It would have to have an 80 series truck tire on a 16 or 17. It's proportionate, but big. It's probably 20ish feet, and can sit 3 large folks across the back, probably 4 people from it's era.

That's what I laugh about though, nothing new under the sun. 24's and 22's were done a century ago.

I’d have one of these...

I was gonna say, some of the RWB 911's look pretty badass.

DaveH did a full motec system on a Turbo'd one not too long ago. I set up all the closed loop boost control for it.

Those are a waste of a Porsche too. And what's with the German writing being put on by a Japanese tuner?

Some I heard are fast though and have built motors and suspension, those get a pass from me (of sorts)

No Thanks.
Ferrari's and other performance sports cars are best the way the come from the factory.
Especially Ferrari's and Corvettes. Mine are stock.

Just go full gas sir. Most RDP members already have a Singer or two. 😂

On Porsches, I don't mind back dating an 1980's 911 into a 1970's RS or something like that. Maybe some engine upgrade. But that's as far as Id go. Not a fan of Singer.

Ferrari's: I like the 1980's era and even a few from the 1970's. Dino, 308, 512, Daytona, the TR and even the very slow Mondial. I like them stock too.
