Ballot harvesting should not be allowed. One person, one vote.
If someone is too lazy to go in person or request absentee then they don’t vote, it’s their choice. That’s not an infringement of their rights. ( you don’t even need a stamp) Get off their ass and vote like the rest of us.
I noticed many states now allow ballot harvesting. Either by specifically allowing it by law or were silent on it. Many states put limits on how many ballots and who can collect the ballot.
CA started in 2018 and that immediately changed the balance of power in 5 congressional seats. Also it’s interesting that courts have limited ballot harvesting restrictions in AZ and Michigan.
When someone collects multiple ballots and votes them that violates the one person, one vote rule.
In jurisdictions that wants to allow it they should place limits (One per collector) and the voter must designate specifically the collector.
