That's a nice bottom and I know for a fact the boat handles chop well for its size. Just a thought.

Look at the bottom on that thing!
Chop?
What chop?😂
Advantage builds a nice boat, they have history in offshore racing.
In that size range I d be looking pretty serious at that unit👍

I agree!! I'm really surprised you don't see more of these out at the river. Such a great riding boat and with the rougher water we're seeing, something to take into consideration. I'd build it as a closed bow with composite stringers and drive the #@%& out of it! 😁

Red one is the older "Hallett F2" deck. (note this is a Hallett Built Boat, I haven't pulled a deck from that mold) It is now at WOT Marine. 28 Skater also has/had a Yellow one

I need a bare hull for my Merc 300. What hull from a havasu boat dealer would you put this on, I want to rig it myself. I have talked to Cheetah about their scorpion 23.... they
said they would get back to me. Any ideas would be appreciated , Also I don't want to be in line waiting for ever for a boat. I figure 3 Months to complete . Hull 23 to 24' would be perfect !

They responded in their thread and said they won't do a bare hull. I'd talk to Maxed out Marine, or if you are looking for a cat maybe talk to Liberator out of TX. (good option)

Is Lavey still building new boats?
As far as I know….no, remember reading they closed up shop maybe 2 years ago. Others have a lot more knowledge about the current situation.

2 years ago, no.
10 months ago, yes.

I left there November 2020 when they were packing up and moving out of the building.
On a side note, I know where all the molds are at.

Did Lavey ever do bare hulls? (or more to the point, less engine/drive but otherwise rigged or with furniture?)

curious why they won’t sell a bare hill? Is there just no profit in making the hull itself and they rack everything up in all the accessories?

Liability... someone fucks up their own install, and suddenly you make an inferior product.

Heaven forbid there is a wreck! Even if your hull is solid and proven, you will be in court defending yourself over a botched customers install. At least if it is in house, you know it was done right!

I only know of race boats they sent out as a bare hull. All other “bare hulls” were complete boats ready to drop in the engine/drive.

So your selling the stoker no motor?
Yes if I can find a bare hull, I took it out the other day, It has power of a Flatbottom out of the hole, Keeps going to who knows what speed it would run.

Would they sell you a hull if you allowed them to mount your motor for you?
I think boat builders want to make it all, Rigging ,Markup engine and other parts make there profit margin . I guess they will not separate for less profit, The boat builders
I have called do not even return Phone calls.

Yeh, that sucks but I understand them somewhat wanting to control their product.
Have you tried Tuff marine, I've always had a spot for that hull.

If you are considering Canadian builders check out Bitz also.
Splash masters, they have splashed numerous boats over the decades and I’m told their glass work doesn’t suck.
Prices seemed fair enough, not sure on wait times.

That makes sense but every boat delivered is usually altered for speed changing the characteristics of the boat, that would make boat builders responsible for how there customers change the boat. There are all kinds of boats out there running speeds above what they were designed for, Then the driver who has no clue,Trim up instead of down confused, No seat time.....It seems like they could hold dealers liable for this too .

Agree. If he won't go overseas then just go to Nordic and tell them you want there SR-21 model built new and that you will give them your used 300XS motor and they can do all the rigging to make it turn key. The work they do and the build quality never ceases to amaze me. They will do whatever layout you want as well.

Schiada had an F1/F2 ski race hull. Have only seen pics of one though. They used to sell bare hulls so you could rig your own
