I know some of y'all have barrel smokers. Thinking about picking one up this spring. The bigpoppa kit looks interesting but the 55 gallon drum is to big. I was thinking about one of the smaller assembled BBQ pit.

My Bradley has given up the ghost and I want something a little more authentic this time around.

Any advice?

I built one from scratch in 2012. There's some good info on here http://www.bbq-brethren.com/forum/

This was when it was first finished. Had it powder coated. It doesn't look like this now.

If anyone needs a 55 gal drum I'm getting ready to toss a nice one.

This was mine. I used high temp spray paint. Turned out nice and lasted a long time. With no issues
