So a group of family friends got a house at Bass Lake. I have never been there. I have only heard good things about Bass Lake. I am not taking the my boat. I am going along for a ride. There are 3 other boat going (all wackers I believe).

Are there any cool event going down next week? One else going to be up there? What is there to beside floating, drinking, n fishing?

You are 30 minutes away from Yosemite Natl park. If you have never been there, it's a must see. One of the most beautiful places on the planet!

Bass Lake is beautiful, but there is no night life. Pretty much just floating, drinking, and fishing.

Was there recently. There is a bar at the lake hotel parking area, not great but made our own party there.

Haven't been there in years but last time I was there it was pretty quiet on the night life. It's a beautiful lake and area up there.

Wow sounds like a lake for familys or poeple who are 55+. Not saying I'm going to rage but a different style then Havasu.

I also heard there are time limits, n speed limits on the lake? Is that true?

It's been a few years since I've been there but it definitely is a slower pace. We had a large group so we had our own party but it still is nothing like Havasu. I can't remember anything about any limits on the lake. I remember I had to bring my boat over for a safety inspection, pay a fee, and they stuck a sticker on the boat that was good for a year. If there was a speed limit they didn't enforce it with us. It's a small lake though. Doesn't take much time to do a loop around it.

It's been a few years since I've been to Bass but there were time limits, I think 7:00 am was the start.

Bass Lake has a 40mph speed limit when the Rangers fly the red flag from the station at mid lake. Usually on the weekend when it gets crowded..... I can't remember if the traffic was clockwise or counter-clockwise. It's a beautiful place, but nothing at all like Havasu in any way, we spent 4 nights there a few years back and it felt like a week.

We have a few friends with houses on the lake, we go there often. The lake is beautiful, gets crowded on the weekends but you will have it to yourself during the week. There is a great little burger joint across the lake, I think its called "the forks", park the boat at the dock and walk across the street, awesome burgers and milkshakes. Pretty sure its 5mph until 8am and then again after 8pm, the sheriff runs around the lake blaring the siren to inform you of this. You need to register your boat with the Madera Sheriff as soon as you get it in the water, they do a quick inspection and take your money, i think its $60. Have fun, its a cool place...

Just spent the 4th of July week up there, Not too crowded with the 4th being a Thursday.... Pines bar can get going on Friday/Saturday, if the party is around, The Chumash casino is about 15 minutes away on the Indian res, Good Food and good Party, pick a DD for that trip, otherwise, there s NO SPEEDLIMIT, unless as mentioned it's crowded, then it's 40 MPH, no Inspection these days, just pay your fee's it's $63.00 for any thing over 250 HP wacker or inboard, lake goes CC watch for the idiots on the Jet Ski's Smooth water @ 8:00AM , quiet hours at 8:00PM, Miller's landing has great food and Ice cream and the Fork's is known for the Fork Burger, double meat on toasted Sourdough, Must have..... other than that a great place to float is down towards the dam in the No wake zone, or in Willow Cove, party happens on the Island, until the sheriff says they will start with breathalyzers until everyone disburses... have fun and enjoy.... Wedge.... PS... I have a 2013 sticker for sale $50.00 :D:D
