What is the most cost effective decent actuator to run the plates on my 24 Spectra. Thanks for any advise.

Is there a spec on that/those unit and who sells them?

Any benefit to the inline vs. 90 degree unit?

How quick do these things move the plate? I’ve only driven v-drive‘s with peddles.

Everyone I have spoken to, including Stan at Schiada, says they are very responsive if set up correctly. As I understand it the plates really don't move very much, 3/8-1/2", and with the stainless steel plates that are being put on newer v-drive boats using the pedal to move the plate and hold the plate can be physically challenging. Typically they are set up with a switch on the steering wheel so two hands on the wheel at all times.

I think the style is what best suits your set up and the room you have to work in. I got rid of mine and went with a foot pedal and lockout handle. For me, I always knew where the plates were set at. I've seen a lot of the electric ones though so the actuators must work pretty good

progressive automation. They have actuators in all sizes and strengths.

500lbs minimum for cav plates. what you want to make sure of is that you have it set up so that you don't over travel, a 2"-3" actuator is what you are looking for.

Use a reversing relay close to the actuator. Run fat wires from the battery. The wires from the switch should only provide direction not the actual power to the actuator.
