Best carne asada in havasu? (TOO BBQ)

Left my brawley/rameys in the freezer at home. Nothing beats that stuff.

Whats good in town? Ive had el corral, its good. Whats better? I dont care where, not like its a long drive anywhere

The best of the worst is at El corral. In the winter and spring Smiths would have it in the meat department and theirs was great for the price. Was not there this last year though.

They trim all the fat off and you don't get the rubber can't chew stuff..
Great flavor and about half the price..
My Mexican friends didn't believe me but after buying it they now buy it from there...

once it got to $13 I gave up. its decent but its not that good. But if you like their flavors they sell them all in bottles so you can pick up your own meat elsewhere.

Yea we’ve mostly just been getting chicken when we’ve gone there lately. Paying ribeye prices for asada is not something I like to do.

Do any of you have the secret to the marinade? I refuse to pay over $6 a lb for flap meat. These mexi shops are charging more for it than Safeway charges for Ribeyes. WTF Over!!

There was a place in Huntington Beach that did an awesome marinade with orange citrus juice and onions back almost 20 years ago. I cant remember the name of the place.

Rameys in brawley, if you ever drive the 8 you need to stop. Its vacuum bagged so it can travel on ice.
They used to ship, but stopped
Im not positive but they use a lot of citrus in the marinate

costco has a Arrcheda ( I might have spelled it wrong ) and it’s really good super tender, light not heavy, comes all rolled up in a big sheet I usually have to cut it to fit on my grill

i have had really good experiences with all the chef meritos stuff. never used the marinade but my spice cabinet is full of their stuff.

A bottle goes a long way. I get at least 3 4 cooks out of a bottle. Shits so good

El corral is great but expensive. Usually, at home, we just get Trader Joe's Carne and Pollo Asada. It's good.

Also, we don't think far enough ahead to marinate anything.

1 orange per pound
1 lemon per 4 pounds

squeeze orange and lemon on both sides, then add Merito both sides too.
If you cook on a flat grill, use the Merito sparingly.
Throw it in a gallon baggie, remove the air, let sit in the fridge over night.

I buy the meat at Stater Bros, choice grade meat doesn't come out as good.
