I just rearranged my garage and moved my bench to the back wall and the floor there is slightly unlevel and the bench rocks. I have it shimmed with paper right now but not sure how that will work as a long term solution, any bright ideas?

Go get a bunch of large fender washers at Home depot. I've had storage racks leveled on stacks of them for a decade in my garage.

You could put levelers in it like you would for a couch or any of your household appliances. Or you can just buy some wood shims get it level and cut off the excess that way you don't see it when you look down.

What I do, is just pile enough shit on top of mine that it has too much weight that it cant rock.

installing leveling feet into the legs is another good idea, but if you dont plan on moving it much, it is not really needed.

thanks guys, leveling feet or some jackable castors would be nice but not necessary for this application.

take a piece of 1/2" ply and scribe it to the floor...your bench will be a little shorter though. That's fancy shit though...

Trim the legs then lag it to the wall.

Maybe you can get away with trimming the center legs.

I used some of those round stick-on pads that go on the bottom of chairs to protect the floor

Grab some cedar wood shims from home depot and tap them under the leg until the bench is level, then screw the bench to wall and snap the excess shims off. Or - if the floor gets wet, they sell plastic wedge shims that won't degrade, or you can also use plastic horseshoe shims. Check McMastercarr.com for these if you go the plastic route. Easy Peasy.

Honestly if you just fasten it to the wall and shim (cedar shingle shims) it you're golden. That's how my bench is. I did put a ledger board up and basically built to that. It's a work bench, I purposely used 3/4 ply so if I drill a hole in it or whatever it really doesn't hurt my feelings.

You might try loosening the fasteners that hold it all together and see if it will settle into it's new position then tighten 'em back up.

Cant you just unscrew the one leg, move it down and screw it back in? That is if it the wooden bench shown in the pic..

Edit: Didn't read wheelers post till after I posted but seems legit..
