Big @ss Outboard 557hp v8

Looks like they managed to make an outboard out of the Cadillac CTS-V's LSA V8...the Camaro ZL1 will also get this engine :thumbsup

The one thing that stuck out to me was the lower unit. Looked pretty cheesy. Like macaroni and cheesy. You think with that power you'd want some beef down there.

pretty freakin impressive. ZF trannys are used in all the high end luxury cars. This things gonna cost a pretty penny id guess!!

Awesome looking engine. I gave them a call to find out more specifics.
Weight: Approx 1,100 lbs
Cost with complete installation, gauges, etc.: Approx. 90k
They're ramping up production 4th quarter this year.
With those types of #'s, it's obviously geared towards big offshore boats. My feeling is, it will be quite awhile before one hits the water in Havasu / Parker. Our boat could support the 1,100 lbs (I've seen them with dual V8's), but the cost is definitely prohibitive.
I really hope they pull it of, it's easily the most exiting OB to come out in some time.
