Said it before and I'll say it again. BIG fan of the 05 Diesel 4WD we bought from Andy last year. Tows 12k+ of Cigaratte no problem, hauls ass, gets KILLER fuel mileage and I seriously get compliments on it all the time. Andy did all the work to it and kept it in like new condition. I joke with him still that I think I ripped him off on the price.

I'm toying with lifting it though. And when I say toying, I actually mean, I'm probably going to. Just need to find a decent lift, right size and someone to do it.

And I'm thinking about taking the black fender flares off. Anyone know how difficult it is or have any tips?

Paint the flares and the top part of the front bumper red and put it all back on.

Flares come off pretty easy, but to me the HD trucks look wierd without the flares. Have them painted to match, like the door handles are!

I'll see what my guy will charge. I do like it all painted same color. Not a fan of the plastic stuff. It flows nice on this truck with the other black accents but over time they start looking like crap if you're not consistently on top of them.

Yea they suck to maintain. I think they sell those flares already smoothed and prepped for paint too, if the body guy doesn't want to prep those.

If my 2500 wasn't already lifted, it would be getting the 4.5 or 6.5" BDS coilover conversion. That truck would also look 1000x better with some appropriate truck wheels. Those wheels and tires belong on an Escalade. I just went from 35x20's to 37x17's on mine, and it improved the look and ride substantially. I imagine those low profile tires chatter your teeth out on the Cali freeways.

You know it's funny but this is the best riding truck I've ever owned (and I've owned a few). The cognito front end and fox shocks and bags in the back probably have a lot to do with it.

I was thinking of actually swapping the 22's on the red truck for the 20" XD's on my Yukon 2500 and then put beefier tires on the 20's. But, the tires on the 20's have like 1,000 miles on them. I suppose I could sell the tires. But then I think, shit, might as well just lift it and buy 20x10 and put 38's on it after its lifted.

That's what I did years ago - bumper - grill and handles.

06' LBZ with 125k. 10" CST on 38 Toyos- Fox shocks around.

Absolutely love this truck. I have had 4 Superdutys, all great trucks, but this one is great. It is in perfect condition, so I always get people trying to buy. Had a guy last month offer me stupid money.

I love these angry eye chevy's. I think it was the best front end, much better than the current gen. Nice build.

CST "9-11" with Fox 2.0 front and rear. It is set at 10". The wheels are Methods, yep you guessed it, 20x10. Toyo 38x13.50R20

The Boost Auto mirrors are also a must have for these trucks. Much better than the small, oem mirrors.

Beautiful truck! I’ve got a 2001 2500 HD crew cab short bed with the 6.0...it’s got 190,000 miles, engine is very strong, love the truck, will probably never sell it. It’s stock except for wheels and tires and stereo. I’ve got 60,000 miles on the brakes and my mechanic says there are still fine.

Absolutely love my 2004.5 LLY Duramax but looks like it will be going up for sale soon. This one I will shed a tear when she’s gone. Original owner.

It would be great if timing works out for me (doubtful, it never seems to).

My 02 window regulators are all shiting the bed at the same time! Yay that will be my next upgrade. And a nagging squeaking serpentine belt.

The cable regulators are a piece of shit. I used to keep all the Ford and Chevy truck regulators in stock at my body shop. Never had a week we didn't change at least two. Nissan came out with that design in the mid 80's and unfortunately almost everyone copied.

I might throat punch that dude if he took my truck into a tree like that!!

That's a nice set up. I like the stance and look of that truck a lot. I'd love to do something similar. Luckily it already has the intake and performance programmer and exhaust so don't need to mess with that.

Love my 05 LLY! 134k miles and counting. No plan to ever get rid of her. The pic is from our last trip to Powell. Loaded up and ready to go!

Since this pic I upgraded my mirrors and installed mud flaps.

I also replaced the factory hitch with a 16k rated one! The factory one was nothing compared to how this thing is built.

I hear you! It's great that we all think alike and all want to keep them. I think a couple of important upgrades are - 1) Lift pump. Keep your expensive cp3 happy and get more filtration to boot 2) Transmission cooler lines. The stock hard lines will leak at some point. Fleece makes a great kit that also relocates the tranny cooler a few inches higher so its actually getting air through it. This mod dropped my tranny temps almost 15-18 degrees. 3) Over sized tie rod ends, idler, etc. 4) Boost Auto mirrors. They are rock solid and ten times better than factory.

It's crazy the offers I get. But then what? I new truck loaded like mine STOCK is what, 75k? The the things I have done to it? I will pass.

What scared me about my last truck is that I had almost $80,000 in it aftermarket. If it was totaled, guaranteed the insurance company was going to give me some low KBB value for the truck. Aside from all the turbo and suspension issues that's why I got my 2020 and left it stock.

What are the symptoms? My two rear windows are slower than molasses when rolling up. Haven't dug into them to determine the cause.

They get slow when they get old. Cables are probably frayed and dragging inside of the sleeves. Then one day.....plop

Sorry for the multiple Post just not thinking right tonight due to Pop's and a little Tequila. 2005 4x4 - Diesel - 190K Original miles never chipped or abused, doesn't smoke and looks band new inside. Only add on's are Fox 2.0 Redhead steering box ( Which Is A Must ) and Mag -Hytec Dif cover and Trans pan. Only reason we are selling is we just moved and don't have the river house anymore and the wife wants a large Lance Camper or Host and will need a long bed dually. Can deliver to Cali as stated.

anyone towing heavy 6k lbs + with those 2500's/ 6.0?

My 2001 2500 HD crew cab with the 6.0 and 4.10 rear end towed my 6000 lb Baja like it wasn’t there. The 6.0 is a great engine but you must have 4.0 rear end.

Had issues with my 15 Ram with the trans and turbo. My 06 Dodge ran over 280k with zero issues. I’ll be sacrificing technology but improving reliability. The 2020 Silverado was literally a POS.

I’d think the warranty would have remedied them. Or maybe just do a full delete?

The issue was taking the new truck in weekly to resolve issues on the 20. It affected my ability to schedule work and their inability to get me a vehicle to replace what i took in hence affecting my work schedule.
I bought the Chevy to resolve the issues i had with my 15 Ram and it backfired.

Hey buddy. Hope you’re doing well John.

I have a 19’ Chevy for my daily driver. It’s been the biggest POS I’ve ever had. It’s my company vehicle but one more week+ stay for repairs at the dealer and I’m ordering something else. It’s almost comical at this point.
