I saw the natural gas conversion kit online. I just wasn’t sure about insulation and heat retention on the sides. [emoji106]

I converted mine to NG right away as my BBQ and Burner are on NG. Not sure about just dropping one in and island as these things put off a tremendous amount of heat from the sides. You would need some serious heat shields and venting to make it work. Just as reference mine is about 2-3" from my counter and if you leave anything on that counter within 4-6" it will be extremely hot when you pick it up...ask me how I know.

Nice set up[emoji106].

I’m going to do something similar. Laying out the counter, bbq and the blackstone. Good to know about the heat... I’ll have to do some research.

On my setup there was a white vinyl fence where the BS is now. Just removed the fence panel and built a platform from some plastic decking material my nephew had. Gas line is on the right of the BBQ so it worked out well for me.

I had the griddle opened up to do steaks last night... then decided to go old school with the Weber kettle. Still on the high 90's at night, so a hot the pool until 10 pm.

Had this dry somewhat rust spot pop up lately on my grille. Its about 4 months old and has had a ton of food prepared on it. Do I need to re-season this portion again? Any thoughts?

Do you guys let these things get super hot before cooking? I have a 2 burner Blue Rhino and it works good but seems like the heat kinda fizzles out- wasnt sure if I need to turn it on and get it super hot before cooking. I usually let it get hot for 5-10 min before throwing food on.

It does look like you are going to need to clean it with some steel wool and soap and reseason it. Mine was bad and got it back to like new.

How to do you clean it when you done cooking? Do you re oil/season after each use?
I always just srape all the remains in the back cup and wipe all of the grille down with a few paper towels. Well I found out today that my SIL when done cooking on it sprays it down with the water bottle and wipes it down from there...we had a little talk about that...I’ll get it back into shape shape this weekend...

Yea man...while still hot, squirt water to steam off any residual shit. Then wipe down...and coat with oil while still warm.

I clean mine before I cook on it...heat it up, splash on some water, scrape the griddle with the spatula pushing all the old grease and stuff into the trap, and then I put some olive oil on it and wipe down the entire surface with paper towels (using tongs).

Then I usually griddle with Avocado oil as it has a high burn temp and lasts longer on a hot griddle. Once I'm done cooking I turn off the burners and close the lid. Repeat

Now if you can incorporate this blackstone and treager on a mount like this you’ll be set up for Glamping....

We bought the two burner for the rv.. Unless you are feeding an army ya don’t need it. I wish we would have got the single burner mini above it seems like it would be more convenient

Now I'm thinking I need to get another Blackstone - a single burner for camping and convert to propane on lighting too. Don't think I'll need a stove - I assume I can boil water on a pot sitting on the Blackstone but it's likely not as efficient as the pot sitting on a burner?

I know a guy that does.. I'm not sure that I would unless it went in the enclosed and Rolled in and out. This 2 burner Blackstone is already heavier than I'd want.

ive brought mine (an ugly drum smoker... its ugly but it works well...) once... made a mount for it into the hitch, even had a little red light on the end of it that plugged into the truck. it was pretty slick. having the smoker was great that I didnt have anything else to do for hours while camping. but the griddle is much more versatile... you cant cook bacon for breakfast on the smoker, etc. you basically only get one meal and have to lug the thing around.

I started with the single burner and upgraded to the 2 burner one you have. The single one is good if you are by yourself but when making multiple meals its so much better with 2 burners. Its not the grilling space your paying its the dual zones. I always have 2 zones set where I am cooking: vegetables on one side and meat on the other, or one is for warming while other is cooking, or I have a rack setup on one size and searing on the other, etc. Its like when you step up to the 4 burner 36" vs the 2 burner 36". Same size griddle but feels like its has 10 times more functions.

The wife got me a 4 burner 36" with a hard flip top cover and vinyl storage cover for my birthday back in May. So far I've managed to get it from Downey to Havasu, I haven't even unboxed it yet. There have just been to many other priorities.

Other than poontang and sleep, what's more important than grilling?🤔

yep. I found a lid table combo for my 17. Cost the same as the 17
table works OK, frees up space on the bbq table

I spent that last week camping with the family and cooking on my brother in laws 2 burner like the one @RiverDave just posted. It was my first go round on it, and I totally fell in love. I could very easily get used to having one of those things around. It cooks well, and 90% of the time I had it on full low, or just used one burner. Anyone whos on the fence on grabbing one, its got my seal of approval.

Funny, just came across this thread. Just got one the other day. Wife has been after me to get one. We love it. I have cooked every meal on it since we got it.
