If you cannot make the meeting, be sure to submit a comment. I will have a sample letter up later. A few members of the group will be attending a preliminary meeting tomorrow at the Martinez Lake Fire Station at 9:30am.

The odd thing is that there was no mention of the meeting on the BLM kiosk at the base of windy hill.

Imperial Hills Travel Management Plan Meeting

Yuma, Ariz. The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Yuma Field Office will hold an open house on Saturday, December 7, 2013, to discuss the Imperial Hills Travel Management Plan (TMP). The meeting will be held at Hidden Shores RV Park located at 10300 Imperial Dam Road Yuma, Arizona, from 10 a.m. to noon.

The meeting coincides with initiation of the designated route alternatives 30-day public comment period. After the completion of the 30-day public comment period, BLM will review and analyze all public comments to develop the route alternatives for the associated Environmental Analysis (EA) and TMP.

?We want to be transparent and update the public throughout the TMP process,? said BLM Yuma Field Manager John MacDonald. ?This meeting will provide the public an opportunity to give us comments and suggestions that we can utilize as we begin to analyze the routes in the TMP.?

Written comments about the Imperial Hills TMP will be accepted through January 7, 2014. The comments should be specific to be most effective. Comments should be mailed to the BLM Yuma Field Office, Attention: Joe Raffaele; 2555 E. Gila Ridge Road; Yuma, Arizona, 85365; or through email to [email protected].

The public should be aware that addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, or other personal identifying information may be made public. While withholding personal identifying information can be requested, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.

The Imperial Hills TMP area is between Hidden Shores RV Park on the south and the community of Martinez Lake on the north, Yuma Proving Ground on the east, with the Colorado River marking the western boundary.

For more information about the meeting, please contact Joe Raffaele at 928-317-3238
