We will be tossing some money towards their video poker 💸💸💸

Their webcam is pretty good... you can control the four views of the camera.

We called the other day, they said they do not have a date yet. We have a week booked for Father’s Day so we are hoping it’s open by then.

The Covid is taking out the Tribes. IMO, I don't see them opening until they can get things under control.

Native Americans seem to have high BP or risk of diabetes.
And multi generational households.
C19 seems to really impact those with diabetes and high BP.

According to an article I read this morning, no. They said they would be closed through at least Memorial weekend.

They had 19 total from what I read. The last 11 that made them decide to stay closed lived in 2 houses. So not really a outbreak IMO.

I read that it’s actually access to proper hygiene. Most of these tribes have little to no access to clean running water and/or the vast majority of its members are living below the poverty line.

But what you’re saying makes sense too.

I thought reading the report a few weeks ago 37 (I beleive) people in La Paz county and 17+ of them were CRIT. The rest of the 37 were peoe testing positive from Parker down to Quartzite.

And those are the ones that were accually reported....

The non-tribal area of Parker just got it's first positive today. Over 65, other serious health issues and is hospitalized out of County. There were two deaths early on, Snowbirds from up north, a couple over 80, also with poor health. A testing event sponsored by the Indian Health Services and CRIT is where all the new (last two week) Indian positives popped from. Several hundred tested and less that 30 positive.

The remaining non-tribal positives were all tied to a series of farms out on Vicksburg Road, in the East County. Migrant farm workers, likely.

There are going to be two testing drives for locals (including indians) the weekend after Memorial Day. I'm sure we'll get a spike after the results from that come back, but none to very few people are showing any symptoms or going to the hospital with COVID-19 diagnosis.

And put away the tin foil hats. ALL positives form ANY health facility in the County are being reported to the Health Department and the State.

Closed for good? Damn...

They were closed for a couple weeks, but opened a drive through, phone and curb service. I think they're now open, with reduced seating. It's kind of patchwork in the town of Parker and elsewhere on the RES. CRIT leased land places are closed, private owned land is open.

CRIT has full lockdown, with all access to the River from CRIT land shut off. That pretty much means that if you are anywhere from Headgate Dam to the Weir Diversion Dam, the River is CLOSED. Blue Water Lagoon, Wheeler Inn, Big River, Lost Lake, Aha Quinn, PLUS the River Shores, Bermuda Palms and ALL leased residences on tribal land, you cannot even sit on the shore, your dock, launch, fish, or anything. They're handing out $1,000 fines for violators left and right. They also have the authority to revoke your lease which, I'm told, they will do if anyone gives them too much grief. I saw their seldom used patrol boat is at the shop getting up and running just about an hour ago. I would guess that they'll be shutting off the lower sandbar, since technically it IS part of their land.

The closure/lock down is, as of today, through May 31st.

For you FaceBookers, there is a locally managed page for local news, and updates for all this stuff. It's managed by local Parker peeps (like me) and is probably the best way to get local news, all in one place. If you go in, you have to agree to, and acknowledge the rules. We don't take any bullshit and can really be assholes at times. It's not really a "discussion" type page, but you can comment if you want. If we don't like it, we'll delete it and ban you, so think before hitting "ENTER". We verify everything posted to weed out the "fake news". But hey. Check it out, anyway.

I was just listening to the solid word of mouth in Parker [emoji6]

Hell, I was one of the first officially quarantined in Parker!

Thanks, Alan. I'm not on Facebook but my girlfriend is. I just pointed her to the site.

Has anyone heard any rumors of what CRIT plans to do with river access after 5/31?
I spoke to a Fish and Game officer not more than an hour ago in his truck. Nice young guy, he didn't know if the May 31st date would be extended. We heard from Casino employees yesterday who were illegally using the beach for swimming that they don't plan to open until the end of June, for whatever that is worth.

Personally, I feel the tribe may react to the increasing number of cases among tribal members,, hope not, but I want to be able to keep my lease. The two latest cases I saw listed today were from down in the Ehrenberg area.

Last month they made a decision to extend the quarantine rules just about four days before the original date of April 30th.

Anyone hear any updates? I saw the CRIT extended their stay at home orders until 6/30. We have (or had) reservations for Fathers day . We are assuming they are not going to open in time but it would be nice if they would either reach out to people with existing reservations or a least have someone to answer the damn phone. We booked a block of 10 rooms too so trying to figure out a plan B for a big group

CRIT reported 36 new cases on the reservation June 1st. I would assume they’re not opening.

They called us the other day and canceled our RV spots, as well as a friend who had a room booked

Havasu Landing went to Phase 2 today. Owners and Campground (double check rules) allowed in with a total of up to 6 in each house/campsite. Contractors allowed in as well. Casino not yet open.

We're hearing 4th of July for the Landing Casino, debating whether we will be frequent players like before.

Screw that place. Last time I was there I got scolded because I finally got a black jack and said a curse word, so the Pit Boss had to come over and tell me that I'm not allowed to cuss. He said that if I cursed again I would be ejected from the casino immediately.

A few minutes later I got scolded again because I took too long to pull my mask up after taking a drink of my beer. The beer that I had to pay for while sitting at a BJ table playing 25 and up chips on multiple hands.
