We were there when it happened. Didn’t see it until after it hit the sail boat

Took the life guards 10-20 mins to get a handle on the boat. They ended up capsizing it. It was making tight 10-20ft donuts at that point

This is what scares the shit out of me with hand throttles. I'd really like a hot foot in my next boat. Hope all who were involved are not injured

Lets get real though, they should all have a kill switch regardless of throttle type.

I don't think I've seen an inflatable boat towing an inflatable...

Those things look like they haul ass...with no passengers.

They didnt have kill switches 40 years ago, just the twist throttle, im guessing in this day in age they have a teather.

40 years ago they towed the boat back and forth across the desert to the river with the family station wagon. Now you need and F650 to tow your jet ski from your vacation house down to the launch ramp 2 miles away.

I've never owned a boat, since I was 19 years old, that didn't have a kill switch.
All my boats get a kill switch. Even my newest purchase. after the sea trial.

The Mercury racing snap cap style has been around for at least 35 years.
There has been a variation in name only that has come and gone over the years but Mercury racing is the easy go to these days.

Damn, if only boat manufacturers would make something that if you fell out of the boat it would shut off, it would probably solve this problem.

Power boats are supposed to give way to sail boats, correct?

Always a pain in the ass on the Delta when there are 20-30 of them bastards and they are jogging from one side to the other. Do your best to power straight through the middle of them.
