Boat Parade on the Strip

Anyone heard of anything this year. I know last year the parade was unofficial, meaning it was not a chamber event, but it seemed there were more boats than ever participating. Happens usually Satuday after Thanksgiving. I have read nothing about a parade this year.

I didn’t even know it happened last year. I had heard the chamber cancelled it and just assumed it had died when that happened.

The lighted boat parade has been a tradition for many, many years. Last year, the Chamber suddenly announced they were not going to put it on at the last minute, so various people scrambled. I even made up a Facebook event page and started talking to people, as did one or two others, and so a number of boats made the run.

This year I haven't seen anything but the flyer from Roadrunner,, maybe the Sherriff's department has stepped up again (last year they did put boats out and supported the parade)

Was really great last year, from La Paz park. Only bummer was some asshat across the river in the " barracks" that has some sorta love for these really bright LED porch/security lights, ruins the mood in the park. Real dickwhistle!

I just came in from putting some heads on an engine, happened to think that when I rode in the parade a couple of years back I was amazed by how many spectators there were standing at the edge of the river to watch. Buckskin Fire brings Santa to the beach to visit as many kids as possible.

Watched some of it last year. Pretty cool...from what i can remember.. Lol
