Trying to get a sanity check on the going rate for boat storage.

I keep my boat in Havasu and have kept it out there for several years. I currently have a 33' individual unit in Havasu and currently paying $185/month. Just received a letter today that rates are going up $50/month. Not the end of the world but seemed like a larger increase than I am used to seeing.

Not sure if its worthwhile to look around or possibly relocate to somewhere closer to Needles/Bullhead since lately we boat/camp more on the river.

Is Spikes individual- you lock you keep the key?

yes, own unit... It has no thrills, but has a place for air and water. The yard is crushed asphalt and wide open, I kept the boat covered inside as it would be dusty if you didn't. Never had an issue.

We want to move our boat to town and keep the truck here as well. We just spent most of the day looking for a 40 footer or bigger. We personally visited 14 facilities.

A few weeks back someone suggested (on one of the threads) to just show up as as way of maybe getting lucky, so we tried it.

Not a single unit available and all of the waiting lists that I saw were fairly big. I suspect anything at less than $300 a month is probably a bargain for a new renter. Currently paying $355 in Acton CA.

I did get a lead on a conditioned space in a shared warehouse and am waiting on a call back now.

Need to try this at the end of the month, that's when you need to vacate the unit.

Peoria AZ outdoor covered 40' storage $240. It's paved, two wash stations, rv dump, dumpsters, air, propane, electricity and an armed guard at night. Not indoor storage but some perspective of what's out there.

My dad is currently paying $308 for a 12x20 In Palmdale, CA. w/ no heat water or power. I thought it was nuts until I started reading some of these here. Now I know it is. The spot was $130 when we signed on 5 years ago. It just jumped $50 in the last 2 months.

I’ve received $50 increases each of the last 2 years. Now paying $305 for a 35’ footer in LHC with electricity. It’s crazy how much storages go for now. I’m expecting another $50 dollar hit next spring 💩

I had a 36' unit at McCheapers on the corner of hwy 95 and Lake and it was $175 when I gave it up to a member here earlier this year but it would go up yearly. No power, no security gates just basic storage.

You are underpaying... be thankful you had it at that price for that long. The waitlists are long..if you give it up be prepared to take it home.

Was paying 230 a month for 30 footer when moved boat out end of 2019. It was going up to 250 the next month and I am betting it’s up to 280 or 300 now as they were bumping it up every year.

What about purchase prices for storage condos in LHC (if you can find one)? From what I can find out it seems like they are about $150/sqft now.
So $150k for 1000 sqft.

There was a 13x40 in town that was available recently. It was listed at $88,000. That’s just shy of $170/foot. If youre renting the same size unit at say $310 a month, it would take 24 years before you had paid out what it would of cost to buy. Granted, the rent would no doubt go up and, if purchased you'd have the asset.

Ours was $140k for 1300 square feet, 26 by 50, so 110 or so per sq foot, Fly Hi storage near Toyota dealer ship and McDonalds on the far north end of town off the 95. They came with 50 amp service, just had to add the plug and pull it from the box, also had to ad the mini split. The second phase is going in now and pricing has not been released yet but its supposed to be a big jump based on the cost of aluminum.

Don't think so, I left in December and didn't notice any solar.

When will the head be operational and tenants get their own personal gate code ?
