RDP brain trust, I am looking for some insight. Anyone know the total length of boat & trailer for a 28ft Magic Scepter? It has the original Magic triple axle trailer. Thank you!

My family sold ours in 2016 but I remember 32-33' tongue to outdrive.

I'm sure someone who currently owns one has a more accurate answer than me.

Thank you. I have 34ft available so my fingers are crossed.

2 feet longer than you need it to be.🤣

Sorry I’m an asshole and I can’t help myself.😬
You laugh, the garage door on my shop closed on the tongue between the latch for the ball and the stand for the winch/ bow roller. I actually knocked out the back of the bay and added 3' to get it in. Just as that was being finished, I sold the boat for covid pricing.

That’s not a bad idea. Knocking out some drywall was probably cheaper than modifying the trailer.

Well I hope you cashed out!

From the transom to end of prop most boats is gonna be about 30”. Plus however much the tongue sticks out in front of the boat on the trailer. Usually about 3”. With 34’ to work with you should have about 6” to spare.

I just measured my 28' Conquest Top Cat and it is 33'-4" from the trailer tongue to the rear of the outdrive with the outdrive in the down position. Should be very close to the same.

haha its usually somewhere between 1-2 ft, aint that always the case. In the case of my longbed truck, i'm about 4 inch shy of being able to fit it into my garage...

Sorry for the delay, 34’2” but I did have a new tongue installed when they couldn’t replace my actuator.
Hopefully OP can kick the trailer a little sideways and get it to fit?

I would say but a trailer dolly or go see adrenaline and have them do a swinging tongue, you would be money if you had one!
True, I might do it regardless even if it does end up fitting. The extra couple feet of space would be nice.

We were a couple inches over on our boat once.

Things I did:
Store the outdrive down.
Removed section drywall gained 3”
Kicked the boat ever so sideways maybe gained a couple inches

Worse case mod the trailer for a swing tounge

Great tips! I appreciate it.

I spoke with Adrenaline today. They gave a rough estimate of $800-$1200 for a swing away. That’s more reasonable than I thought.

just as important... who rigged the boat?
I’ve been trying to dig up the history on it. This boat was sold by Outdrive1 last year. He seems to think it was rigged by Magic.

I wonder if there’s a way to definitively find out?

Well, it’s not ideal but it’s in. It had plenty of room length wise. The problem was it wouldn’t fit through the single door. The single door and trailer were exactly the same width. This will work for now though. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
