My old sled never had a windshield but it had the holes in it for one since I bought it .The owner before me took them off when one got broken and the holes have always bugged me. Every winter I tell myself I'm going to make new windshields because there so expensive to have them made and this old sled isn't worth a whole lot so this winter I did it . First I made a mold to bend the 1/4" acrylic plexiglass that I bought at e plastics for 50 bucks . Simple Masonite bend and screwed down to the wood. Next I used a harbor tool heat gun to mold the glass around the mold .l had to make those aluminum strips to keep the shape on the glass because it moved as it cooled
I still have to mount them and install trim moulding on the bottom, there just sitting on the boat now ,what do you guys think are they okay or kinda hokey?
Shit that looks good, like factory. You will definitely notice a difference in the amount of wind hitting you, you could also poss make them a 1/3 shorter, IDK just a thought.
I thought about making them a little shorter but this is the way they turned out, the early versions of this boat like mine they pointed forward and I don't care for them to much so I copied the latter versions like this boat
