*A twist to the @pull-on dusk thread*

How many of you guys like to run in the early morning?

I can’t get enough of it. Havasu, Powell, Mohave it doesn’t matter where. If I’m camping on the water there’s going to be at least one early morning out and it’s going to be a long one.

Pirates to The Springs and back August 2020 was one of my favorites.

At least on the lower river morning will have a lot less bugs in a skier's face than evening. Downside is that it will be colder for the skier. Upside is breakfast was always waiting for us because the girls never wanted to get up early, but always got hungry before we got back. #winning

The mornings are great. Grew un in a flatty and spent the first ten years of my boat ownership in a flatty. Nothing like that morning glass.

Sea of Cortez last week fishin out of SJD. You can see the stripper pole/fish hook combo logo the panga guy had done for his boat. I complimented him on it

i used to hate early morning. now after having 2 kids, im up by 5am regardless. I love that time at the river. ill go rip the boat by myself, sit on the beach with a cup of coffee and just watch the world go by. my wife laughs sometimes, she will get up shortly after me and find me sitting on our patio at home drinking coffee staring at nothing, and ask what are you doing. my answer is normally "just letting it be quiet".

My experience when doing both surfing. Dawn gotta get up which is not an issue for me as I am an early raiser. Dawn also has lees people out and about in the world so I find it much calmer with conditions and the noise of the world. But I have seen my best sunsets at dusk.

And as we all know……RDSUX!!!

Crack of dawn. Zero crowds, great water, and no rush because the entire day is ahead. I am not a fan of dusk as I am always paranoid of running out of light and drunks.

I chose RD Sux cause I can't choose.... Nothing like a early dawn run dam to dam in Parker in the cat... then stopping for a bloody mary at RR... On the flip side....leaving Fox's at Dusk with the sun and colors falling behind you headed north with a boat full of happy drunks and me the designated driver does not sux....memories!

I'm the same. I chose RD Sux just because. I'm an early morning guy buy trade. Plus I used to run my blown flat bottom early. But now I love dusk because all the yahoos have already raced back to the ramps and dinner. Which means the lake and river is empty and more relaxing at the end of a long day.

Love my early morning runs to Topock for breakfast. Much easier when the boat is in a slip or beach spot at the Islander

My brother and I would fight and argue to see who got the first ski run of the day. My brother being both older and twice my weight, I skied second.

@BUDMAN @BeerMaker my buddy Brian and I did a 6am run from Nautical to Pirates for Billy B one year. Best part is that we all didn't go to bed until 3am the night before. It was pretty rough to say the least, but we made it.

I'm gonna guess that's a Kona. My first boat was a 71 Kona. That thing ripped. I loved it.
Yes sir, Grandpa bought it new 6/71 and we still have it. Need to dump some money into the interior and stuff but still runs!

Idk Powell at dawn is pretty nice!

I am lazy… paddle board at Powell in the am, cook breakfast… you are living on the water. I am in a bit of a size challenged cruiser so once I pull anchor it’s time to move to the next stop! When I have my 21 footer and I am on a houseboat then I do just like you, first up and do a lap before anyone is up!

Next time you do a dawn run stop by for bacon and Bloody Mary!

If you want to waterski these days, gotta do it crack of dawn. Best water, least wind, less boats, etc. No matter the lake.

That’s pretty good handwork and a great looking sunrise. Sea of Cortez Is legit too, how’d the fish locker look? Any more pics?

My best fish story is out of San Carlos. Spent many a sunrise loading 80s on a dive boat down there.
