I need education on the powerglide & big block chev t just seems weird to have a stall speed converter on a boat like 2,000 RPMs before it even starts on tracking and you cannot put around in it and it's running like 3 or 4,000 RPMs all the time didn't run any further thought I'd ask somebody before I f*** something up

I would guess the boat was/is set up for the drags. The "stall" allows the engine to get to it's "happy place" before the prop load hits it.... Seems kinda strange to me.....What, other than low rpm slippage, makes you think the stall was built in??

First thing I'd do is inspect the fluid. Color and smell will tell you alot.
