Need help? I have this outdrive and I was told it was a bravo 2 but it sure looks like a bravo 1 how can you tell the difference? I checked the serial # and it shows it could be either. Is there a measurement or something that will help me. I have 2 other bravo 1's and they look the same!! Any help would be excellent.. Oh and it has an imco steering cap so no sticker from mercury.

Bravo 2 is longer and designed for a bigger prop, up to 20" .

Give me the serial number and I'll run it in Mercnet. It will show me the registration.

Interesting, I have never seen a B2. I believe you can also measure the prop shaft diameter.

Bravo 1 propellers have a 1 inch prop shaft

Bravo 2 propellers have a 1.25 inch shaft.

Interesting. In all my boating experience I have never even heard of a Bravo 2. I know there is a B1 and B3 but didn't know about the B2. I guess you learn something every day.

1999 Mercruiser Bravo 1 1:150 to 1 ratio never been registered. Bravo 2 is more of a house boat drive.

Bravo 2s are mostly for heavy cabin cruisers and houseboats.
