Some pics from an hour ago. I was worried they were going to close the road and I’d have to go through Needles/Vidal to get home [emoji51]. Rumor is, if it burns under the bridge they will have to close and inspect it.

They were doing water drops on it earlier. I don't think that would be possible in the dark.

Turned the unfortunate opportunity of the fire to let the child and company watch from a distance as the planes scoop up water from the lake in between 3 dunes & the water station. I think I was more impressed though to be honest being a big kid at heart!

Hope it gets handled quickly and safely.

This morning the Havasu Herald added this update to it's Planet Ranch Fire story.

My buddy that works at the pumping station close to Havasu springs sent me some cool pictures of the planes making water drops

It was closed last night from 930pm to 11ish. Open today, but could be closed for periods of time depending on the wind.

My families place is in Hillcrest bay right next to the bridge. I almost drove out last night to grab what I could. But so far I'm hearing that the community is still safe. Fingers crossed...

Rather typical of any wildfires. Day one everybody's reporting on it, after that, apparently it's stale old news.

Wildfire Today shows over 1,200 acres, and shows this outline. I suspect that's based on Modis or Viirs and isn't born out by a pic posted on Facebook.
Those driving by know best ??

These next two pic were posted on the Firefighter's union facebook page 10 hours ago, not sure when they were taken. The two scoopers don't like like the two they were using yesterday.
Current Flightradar 24 only showed the observation lead plane circling.
