Budget out the window

Been a busy couple weeks. Finished coating all the interior wood, met with my trailer guy today for a total re-build plan w/ triples, new bunks & LED's etc... Then dropped the ol' tug off @ the gelcoater. Hope to be n the H2O by July 4th !!!

Well the ol tug is coming along. Upholstery shop has all the interior pieces and should get started any day. Finished framing the hatch, hope it fits. The glass shop almost has it all smooth, & hopefully ready for new gel next week. Summit got $400 yesterday on top of the $500 last week for a bunch of new RAT parts. Gotta finish cleaning, polishing, painting and bolt all the new goodies on. Hopefully the pump will come back in a week or so with a shiney new powdercoat to match. Gets closer everyday.

I can't believe it's been 2 months since I did an update. I'll post progress pics after. Still not in final gelcoat yet, but my man is supposed to finish sprayin' the white this am. The bottom is done, but was a mess due to all the stress cracks. Initially wasn't gonna do the complete bottom side, but when it got flipped we really saw how bad it was. Now it's bright white with speed clear, and no hook. Was gonna put a stainless rub rail, but @ over $500 bones said FK that, lets just cap it & go no rail. DONE. Tape'd out the graphix a couple days ago, so white should be done today, then re-tape this afternoon for the red.

Fkn interior guys around here all suck. :thumbsdown None of em want to fkn work, or get a job out. The first idiot I dropped everything off to sat on it for 6 weks and never touched it. His excuse, well your boat ain't done yet. My reply to this dipshit was to load my shit and i'm takin it to someone else. Not to mention a thousand worth in materials looked 20 years old covered in dirt, dog & cat hair. My wife was FKN PISSED, as was I. Who in their right mind now days would let a few grand walk outa their shop ??? FKN LAZY. :loser:

So I take everything to the second guy. Promised to have it out by the end of July ( as every other FKN deadline has passed and been missed)
Birthday was 8-6 and all I wanted was to have my ride in the water. End of July, this dude hasn't fkn started either. WTF ???? :swear

Oh well, it'll be done when it's done I guess, but SUX ASS never less.:grumble:

Thanxxx to INTHERED (Drake), received all the components and fenders for the trailer overhaul. A Texas Triple, yee fkn haw !!!!!
Now the trailer was just supposed to be rehabbed, add a third axle & LED's. Yea right. Once my buddy started looking it over rehab was outa the equation. Main rails rusted out, support rails rusted out, surge set up & hitch garbage, etc, etc, etc.... Y'all get the picture. A week later a new frame sits next to the old POS, mocked up the running gear with a new electric brake rear axle. Hell yea, progress finally. Everything hung, sitting on the ground with new all black wheels & low pro skins, nothing is fitting like it should. FK!!!!!!:swear There's no one around here that has ever done a trailer like this so no help in site. I call up River Dave, & he saves the day. Crawl's under his trailer with a tape while on his way out the door to work & gives us the measurements off his triple, low & behold it worked. :thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup (Thanks a million RD :champagne
Couple days later the new triple made a 100 mile round trip from the welder, to the gelcoater & back. All fitment measurements done for the bunks, bow stop and fenders. Should be ready for the House of Color pearl black next week, sweet.

A huge thanks to a couple great board members for your help in making my Ol POS like new again. Maybe one day i'll drag it out west for a little river time.

I would make sure that your trailer bunks extend PAST the end of your boat or the hook will be back in no time!!!

All the white is on, now for the color. Finally !!!!!!

Wasn't quite ready for paint, had a few little details to finish up. 3/4" square tube along the frame rails for wiring, fender supports, and finish grinding all the welds. Gonna need a little body filler to smooth out the main rails & hopefully be in paint by mid next week. Red gel being shot today, and should be picking up some interior pieces tomorrow. We'll see if the upholstery dude can stick to his word or have a bunch more worthless excuses. Another update soon with pics I hope.

Got by the gel shop today to check out the red after the tape was pulled. A little light in a few places to respray but not to worry. Really starting to come together now. Might be done just in time for winter.

Stopped by the interior shop yesterday to check on stuff. Side panels are done & look bad ass. Was gonna loa em up but they wouldn't fold where they hinge, so left em & will pick em up with a trailer n a couple days along with the buckets. Didn't take any pics but will when I get em.

The red gel came out real spotty, so it was all re-sanded, taped & re-shot a couple days ago. Looks a whole lot better now. Pics coming soon.

Trailer is now Black finally !!! Fenders & lights go on tomorrow & will be wired on Thursday. Wet sand, buff & new bunks next week then i'st DONE. Should have front buckets tomorrow. What a slow freaking process.

Thx. Black wheels more for cheap, but they do look pretty cool after all. Planning on puttin' on fender pads as well. The side was pretty beat from rocks so a must fo-sho. Lookin like a build for summer is turning into another winter project.

Diamond plate cut & riveted in place. Finally picked up the buckets. All the gel is on, now to sand & buff. Temps rapidly cooling down so should have the perfect winter project.

Thanks for the compliments. We are really looking forward to getting it back. Weather man had good / BAD news the other day. Next three months is supposed to be warmer and drier than normal. Good for all our Palms & boat building, but bad for the drought and lake levels. We're only 10 ' down so we should be alright.

Still looking for that Bow cleat.... Anyone ??????

Bow cleat in hand !!!!! Thanks Cliff. About halfway done wet sanding & buffing the trailer, freakin back killer. One more day should finish that off. Better pics of the LED's too. Decided to web the bilge & up under the bow for simplicity & $$$$ sake. Once it's all together I think it'll look cool. Better than almost 30 year old bare glass & grime. Guess we'll see.
