MSHP/Water Patrol reports are public record so it'll be online in a day or two what happened. Looks like it belonged to a #FIB so...I'd agree with your assessment of running out of talent..just like the bears 🤣 #gopackgo😅😅

In all seriousness, hope everyone was ok..im sure that wasn't pleasant to experience.

yeah. Witnesses said dude was running to fast for conditions. I could only imagine how rough it was this weekend. Water there gets stupid big and unpredictable from huge cruiser wakes. We run in a 14,000 lb 42 cigarette and actually have to slow down for the Wakes bouncing all over the place. Confused water. Isn’t much fun when it’s rough out there.

@Apex svt was there. Took the pic at the dock day before.

Good news is no one seriously hurt.

Pickle them motors dry it out and run it.

It’ll be for sale for 350k in a few months 😂😂

Running fast with 13 year olds in your boat? Some mother is going to be fucking livid
I don’t know how fast he was running and like i said water gets unpredictable. My 8 and 13 y/o love it though. Never fast enough.

We were at 3 dunes last year and buddy shows up with his 1550 M35. Yells for me and my daughter (27) her friend and my 13 y/o to jump in for a run.

We hit 161. It was bad ass. But hind site being 20/20. I’ll never do that again with my kids.

Once again it's proven that operating a boat with big power in rough conditions requires more skills than pushing up the sticks. More money than brains strikes again.

The only thing the operator apparently did correctly was having the occupants wear PFDs. Otherwise the outcome would have been tragic.

Looks like it was 5 hours exactly after I took these pics at PBC it went over. Boat was absolutely gorgeous. Super sad sight, but glad everyone is ok.

Like Tank said, the water can be very unpredictable and rogue cruiser waves sometimes come out of nowhere. I’d imagine it would have to be something serious to get a 39 Gun that far out of shape. Speed/waves anything can happen.

There is

There is also a quad 50 called Iceman that also looks similar located in Canada.
There's actually been a few quad powered 50's. An African prince owned 2 (one sunk in Hawaii). Teague rigged them and handled delivery. Said it was SKETCHY delivering down there.

Tank, if i took my kids 160 mph in a boat, my wife would personally kill me and leave me out to rot. LOL.....Holy Heck, you HAD to have trusted that buddy for sure! Thats a once in a lifetime experience, but I would have been a nervous wreck!

She was NOT very happy no. My 27 y/o daughter has been 150 plus countless times in boats so she was fine. Her friend was fine (probably because she doesn't realize the risk. I could see my 13 y/o was nervous. He's a boat nut and most likely realized we were about to stretch it out. Buddy has raced flat bottoms for years, has taken the courses (Tres Martin), is very very cautious and has a LOT of seat time. But as some pointed out - Shit happens fast at those speeds and it's gone very bad for people in the past even though the experience was there. I will say, my 13 y/o was on cloud 9 for weeks talking about it. I told him, there's only a handful of people in the whole world that have been over 160 in a boat, let alone someone your age that has been that speed.

Been 170 in another DCB with the wife as well. Whole time I'm just thinking, please don't crash, please don't have a failure. Bob Teague was driving so there's that but again, things go wrong even to the best of them.

When I was younger I was like, fuck it, go as fast as possible! Big water? Let's get some! Air that fucker out! Run it as fast and hard as possible. The older I get, everytime I'm running at high speeds, I just think, is this worth the risk? I'd say I start getting a bit nervous at 130 plus. Seems I can rationalize you "can" survive under 130. But I know you AREN'T going to survive 130 plus.
