Well, before my little plane ride/road trip Wed. with Chris, we got a sneak-in peek at the new Cabelas next to Boomtown near Reno.
Never been into one of those places before, but bought lots-o-stuff from 'em outta the catalogs over the years.
The place is, to put it mildly, awesome. Never seen so many non-fossil fueled toys in one place in my entire life.
I gots me a brand-new credt card.:fsakes:smackhead
Went back today with Cindy, it was the official Opening Day.
They expect 45,000 folks to come through the doors during the first three days they're open.
Nothing but grinning faces everywhere you looked, except for the California residents who were pissed off because they couldn't buy firearms there without shipping them to a Ca. FFL dealer before taking possession.
This state is so screwed up.
Did manage to buy me a new airgun, a 'scoped Remington with muzzle break, 1000 fps.
I intend to make life very difficult for the damn gophers and other various pest-like life forms in the neighborhood.
Cin bought a few things, I got a couple of shirts and a new Carhart vest.
We also checked out some very nice target style bows. Cindy expressed an interest in getting into target Archery; we have the room here for a nice little range, so come next spring we'll be back the the "Big C" getting fitted and trying out some models on their indoor range.
I could spend a small fortune in there on a monthy basis.
I will spend a few bucks in there everytime I drive by.
Check it out if your in the area.
The little dinning area is nice. Great chow. The Elk roast sandwich is killer.
