Has anyone purchased a boat from Cactus Marine & Rv? We are curious of your experience with them. We are looking at a Berkshire from them... Also curious of any reviews on the Berkshire?

Thank you and Happy Boating!

Put this up in the lounge and you will likely get a more prompt response. Good luck on your purchase!

I just bought a boat from these guys. Scott was extremely helpful and knowledgeable on the whole situation. My family and I will definitely be doing business here again.

I purchased from Scott also. He was good to work with. More than fair and reasonable with me. We are happy so far with the Berkshire product we selected.

25’ Berkshire Dual Console Super Sport, Merc 400r on a very nice triple axle Extreme trailer.

Went there twice. Gave the sales guy my info.
The second time we were introduced to the owner.
They had a lot to choose from but it got confusing unless you have a particular model in mind.
We had to ask what motor was on which toon since most in the showroom didn't have a motor.
Some options didn't work like the electric lounger. Most didn't have batteries in them to even check out the gauges or stereo
Their dealer prep is a $2000 add on.
We did narrow it down to a couple that we liked
Never got a call back
They are not all put together for a reason. Every customer wants something different so if it's already built then it's more work to change it all up again if someone wants it with another motor. Alacarte is pretty hard to put pricing on also wouldn't ya think. Lots of combinations.

That's not how we understood it.
They knew exactly what motor was going on which toon so we had to ask on each one.
They didn't even give us an option to change motors
That was the other odd thing. I told them I wanted either the 250 or 300 merc.
Then they showed us one and i asked what motor comes on it
Oh that's a yamaha
They didn't even listen to what i wanted
They didn't even listen to the price range I wanted to be in

Well they must be doing something right cause they sold 48 last month and have 30 out as of today.. Hard to please everyone I guess.

Not hard to please
Just like to know what I'm buying
They definitely aren't the least expensive for dirty half put together trim falling off non working options toons
My guess is you work for them since you know so much
Not even a courtesy call from the salesman
I'll spend my money where someone appreciates my business

If you want a toon, an Avalon, go to Pacific Marine outside of Fresno, that’s where we ordered ours from, saved almost $10,000 over buying in Havasu.

Pain the ass for spending my money on quality stuff
Cactus rv isn't even a member of the NMMA. That's why they weren't at the boat show
They're a volume dealer. Good luck with that
Sorry I couldn't please you with an honest review
Some people hate the truth that they made the wrong choice

Have you had any dealings with Cactus? Just saying I know EZ185 and I don’t think he would ask for to much.

Been there a couple times, both times someone came out and greeted us etc. No complaints about the dealership, we just liked a different brand more and went with that (Manitou / 400 single)

I have to say Got Water came through with 5 stars.
They not only worked with me and listened to me but they took me out on a test ride and didn't charge me $1000 like another dealer
They showed me how everything worked and went the extra mile on some other things I never expected.
They even called me back.
They even said they would meet me on sunday when they're closed since my wife has a limited schedule.
Now THAT'S service!

Vaughn was bad ass.... almost felt bad buying another brand because of how attentive Vaughn was with us.

Dude why are you bagging on this guy so much???? What is your connection to Cactus? I know they are out of Phoenix. Are you connected to them??? If you had a good experience with them say so. Your input is just to say EZ is a a pain in the ass.

What? You get rid of the new SW, or did you add to the fleet?

Yes, Jack at Pacific was excellent to deal with and the pricing could not be beat.

He claimed to be the owner of the Havasu location in other previous threads. Very unusual marketing strategy with his lack of people skills on a boating website with lots of potential customers. Some of his condescending replies in previous threads about his alleged business also spoke volumes about what to expect as a potential customer.

SOB! You're keeping up with a few of the pros here on flipping shit! Let's see a picture of the new ride! I am also contemplating the toon life!
I never thought going so slow would be so much fun.
Our first ride had 8 people on board and room to move around and carry on a conversation
You can put all the horsepower you want but you still only want to go 15 to 20 mph to enjoy the ride
Pull up on a beach and no worries about scratching the gel coat
Haven't done it yet but i bet they're great for skiing or tubing. They plane instantly and turn on a dime like they're on rails.
I wish I would have bought a toon years ago

Still have our 253 Checkmate with 500HP.
Still have the need for speed lol
We were down to 2 toons, brand new or used same model.
The $25k difference sold us on used and we kept the speed boat
So many nice low hour used toons out there

I'm glad I found this thread. One of the toons we are looking at is Coach and the only dealer west of TX is Cactus. The stories about the in the boat show thread (in the lounge) didn't have many positive thoughts about them. I'm a little less worried about them rigging the boat and the sales experience than getting warranty work done. Coach offer 10 years on everything if you put a Honda on it, but what good is that if Cactus can't get the work done. I'm going to contact Coach and see what they say about having problems taken care of if all of the Cactus stories I've read so far turn out to be true.

I went to the website and they had a CEO, and two other "executives" of the company listed with email addresses. I thought that a bit odd, but nice that you can directly contact a higher up.

here's my story....spent 2 days looking at toons in havasu...came up with a floor plan I wanted...and a color... cactus was the only one in town that had what I wanted...I never knew about the inside the building part...this this thread was about cactus.....I for one think it should be about cactus... I for one am not going to bad mouth the others, as they all seemed to be doing whats needed to earn my business...and I don't think it's right to put a plug for another company on a thread about cactus marine..so that being said.. as the first post response... Yes, I did buy from them...over all, not one thing bad to say,.. they took me out on a test ride within an hour...they answered all my questions,... and gave me a free doughnut..they had the color I wanted, the power I wanted, and had the boat ready in two days, so bought it weds. and went boating Friday morning,...as far as the money part,.. I asked.. how much can I buy it for,and I wanna trade in my boat...took all of about 5 mins. to get to the price.... didn't have to wait for an answer..when we got to the price... 45k and my boat... that was the price... nothing else added but tax on the difference ( got the az tax credit for my trade...) personaly,..I think (so -far) Scott is a no bull shit kinda guy,he's doesn't seem to have the time to waist try'n to bull shit you into buying a boat...and cuts the chase part out,... Here's what I can and will do,..do you want it...deal...…. people always seem to bad mouth other people in the boating industry,..making fun of others, site 6 is a good example....hecklers and rumors seem to love havasu...would I buy from cactus again??? hell yeah,.. did I like how I was treated, hell yeah,.. did I get what I paid for ...hell yeah....Did I like Dealing with Scott and George...hell yeah...there where as many laughs and grins exchanged as dollar bills...I might even go there Tuesday and buy another toon from them Tuesday so I can have one for Vegas, and one for Havasu,.. when I told River Dave I bought a toon with a 250 motor for 59,999.00 from them, his response was ," if you can buy a toon with a 250 motor for 60k, if I was you I would buy 2..thats a smokin deal..." so the though is there right now...:D

so again… I want to make this perfect clear...I found the toon I wanted at cactus....and they sold it to me at a price I was willing to pay...and in no way am I saying anything bad or good about the other dealers in havasu,.. other than they didn't have what I wanted..

I also want to keep things good , I might buy a boat from anyone of the dealers in havasu at any givin time....and I don't know why, but I have nothing bad to say...

well,...there must be drugs in the doughnuts, and yesterday they had cinnamon rolls, I bought another toon,... this one is a coach with honda power, so i'll see on what power is better first hand...I wanted a dual helm with windshield, but didn't want the dual lounger rear as it makes the rear a two person seating for the whole rear section...the f'd up part about cactus is they have such a huge selection of different units....you have to really pay attention to which one had what...when I landed on the coach, it checked all the boxes... what was really nice was Scott... he knows every boat, and every option they have... so we just sat in one of them,.. told him my wants and he pointed out which ones were close.....the only thing I didn't like about the coach, and why I shy'd away from it was the roll bar,... where it will be stored it would have to fold down every time I park it.... , that and the bimini doesn't have enough shade for me...the color matches my new rv so it's gonna be cool on the powell trip!
