Received this email yesterday from the promoter of The Mint 400 and The UTVWC.... Should be a pretty cool race/event.

You are receiving this email because you have raced The Mint 400 or UTV World Championship in the previous two years.

It's no secret that over the past few years we’ve been developing new races.
Tomorrow we get to share some exciting news about our newest event in 2022.
This is just the second step, in what will be a multi-year rollout of new events/races between now and 2025.

Tomorrow morning, we are announcing a new Car/Truck and UTV race scheduled for October 12th-16th, 2022 in Barstow, CA.
The California 300 will take place on a newly mapped 75-mile racecourse.
It will be a four lap race, and will feature our “Mint 400” style event promotion, livestream production and television coverage.

A few key notes:
• The Unlimited Truck class will compete as a stand alone race Saturday afternoon.
• Class 1, Unlimited Truck Spec and other select classes will race earlier that morning.
• Limited class racing will take place on Friday, highlighted by the inclusion of the UTV World Championship races. Yes the UTV World Championship is moving to California.
• Pre-running, Technical Inspection, an Off-Road Festival and a public poker run will take place earlier in the week.
More details will be included in the press release tomorrow morning.

We wanted you to be one of the first to know, as we hope you’ll join us for an epic event in October.

We look forward to producing another world class event for you all!

Yeah Im guessing the juice wasn't worth the squeeze with only having UTV classes and missing out on all the higher dollar truck/buggy entry fees, that had to hurt a little. They did send another email this AM saying "they aren't done with Havasu by any stretch".... So maybe they are going to try and expand that race into all classes as well, but need more time to figure it out and get a longer course. I know originally when they moved the UTVWC to Havasu the talk was all classes eventually and that the BLM had basically given them usage of all the land from the 40 to the 10 to plan a race... That was purely rumor, but sure would be cool if they did.

So no LHC - UTV World Champion in 2022?
One would wonder why the same company would schedule a race in Ca during the same month as a World Championship title race. Wonder who the genius is……

Baja 1000 is middle of November and with pre running and prep how many big $$$ trucks do you think they will get to race.
things can get backed up, so it’s a tight squeeze to fit in anything else

For the big name teams, they could look at this two ways. Either the 300 will be a good test-run for the Baja 1000, leaving time for final adjustments and a race prep before heading south....or, it's too close to the 1000 and the team would rather not risk it. 🤷‍♂️

I think we see all the trophy truck drivers put in their money and effort towards the Baja.
