Cool and rare build, it’s crazy how close the gel/wood is to my Howard it’s as if the same person did them which knowing boats in the late 70s I bet they did. Can’t wait to see her finished keep the pics coming.

1974, polished all the old hardware most came out good hoping to get the new seats next week . Engine BBC 454 with small camshaft, 9.5 compression , turbo 400 tranny, 9% over in the V-drive. Hopping for speed in the 50’s. Boat is very very heavy, 12” stringers.

Awesome boat. I just picked up a whaler that is a splash of a howard. Did you build that swim platform? I looking at getting one for my boat. If you did build it what dize material did you use. I will be watching your build.

Sorry photos not in order. Got the boat ready to take to upholstery guy after waiting 4 weeks had boat there Monday’s 8:00am was thinking 2 weeks. Well 2 days later at 9:00 he calls he tells me come pickup your boat ??
Ok then he tells me he does not know how to do what I want? Well Sxxt. Now every upholstery guy tells me there 4 to 6 weeks out. So bring the boat home grab some cardboard and start cutting, how hard can this be? Have patterns, now what. I am a machinist not a carpenter so how do I get the backrest to hold the shape I want? Have a friend sheer some aluminum to size, then use my metal roller to shape it, problem solved. Drill and tap 10-32 holes in the boat and that’s done. Weld angles to the bottom of the aluminum and now I can attach the seat bottom. Cut the wood for the seat riser and now I have seats. Trip to upholstery supply $600 later I have material foam and other things I need. Years back I acquired an industrial sewing machine for my wife so now its time to practice my sewing.

Painted some more of the floor . Started to reinstall the seat bases. Made the cover for the front storage box it is for an anchor.
