Can a V-drive conversion be done?

I've searched this forum, threads, posts but I can't seem to find an answer so I'll just ask it straight up. I have an 82 Centurion outboard boat. Is it possible to set up a V-drive? Do I have to run stronger stringers? This is just an idea being tossed around. If it would be cheaper or less work to find a clapped out v-drive to fix up, then let me know. Thanks :beer

it would be alot cheaper and better to find a V drive in poor shape and rehab then convert one too it.

I'll go ahead and finish the Centurion with the outboard, play with it for a year and sell it. Thanks for the advice.:beer
