Wife insisted, I just nod and sign where I’m told. Heard good and bad things about all the pool companies we looked at. A couple wouldn’t even call us back. Ended up with Mohave County Pools.

We have a tiny back yard which is made worse by a Public Utility Easement (PUE) which essential cut available room in half. Bart drew up some plans that worked and the wife said yes, so off we go. Propane heated, computer controlled something or other, pop up cleaner thingys... lot of travertine to include our patio and half the rest of the yard.

18” raise to a travertine shelf, water features and landscaping blah blah.

The drawing. Cozy little thing, but the wife gets her spa and the kids have a place to play

Elevation looks a little high unless you are putting pavers on your existing deck or something.

We signed with him and it took us 2 weeks to get the money moved and straightened out. They got the permits within that time I’m guessing. He was bugging us to start even before we were “ready” (had to move a trailer from my side yard).

Gunite going in today. Snapped this on their lunch break. Really interesting process.

Lunch break during gunite? Don’t think that is typical as it needs to be worked when wet.

I use lunch break loosely, I think they were actually getting the 2nd truck in position and pumping.

With a smaller pool is a chiller a good option to keep the water cool in the peak of summer?

We have one on ours. 9300 gallons and it works GREAT. We keep it at 86-87 in the summer and now with the cooler nights the heat is on.

No clue. It’s been inspected and signed off though.

The only thing that came up regarding distance from house is that any window within 5 feet (to the water) needs safety glazing.

and, why did the pool get put so close to the house???

I have a 10 foot PUE which sucks up half my yard. We had to use whatever available space we had. We love what they came up with.

the pue is on the other side of the wall....right???? I have the same thing..

No. PUE is on my side of the wall. Can hardscape but can’t build any structures or the pool can’t encroach on it.

Still needs to be bullnosed and sand laid on top but man it’s awesome. Huge respect watching those guys install it. Filthy time consuming job.

Looks awesome. I did how close the pool is to your slider and door actually. With that slider opened up it's gonna seem like the pool is virtually partly indoors. Steps from inside to your new pool. Bad assery.

That looks like it’s fits in nicely! What a great layout. I like it!

What size is the pool and how big is the spa? Are you doing a chiller and or solar for heat to expand the pool season

We are thinking like 12x15 or a 15x18 spool / cocktail pool for our back yard. I have an 8 ft easement along my side yard. So we are kinda in the same boat....

Pool is 9x28 12” shelf then 3-6 feet. 8 person spa. No chiller or solar, we went propane. In-ground / pop up cleaners and all on remote something or other. They’re doing the landscaping too. She wanted it turnkey when they were done. Only thing I think we need now is an alumna wood / lattice patio cover for the one side.

@FlyByWire , that is a really bitchin use of space! That took a pretty small backyard and made it a great get together area.
It looks like your move east is going well;)

Not sure if there’s still another final coat of plaster, but you can kind of see trowel marks still, so I hope so. Very happy though. Some of the pics make the pool look 4 feet wide (it’s 10) lol. tried to use better perspective.

They re-did my RV side after destroying it with their equipment.

So it’s essentially “done”. Just waiting on propane tank(s) install, and it has to run for a week or so to get all the shit filtered out, then starts the normal schedule.

Very happy with Mojave’s County Pools.

I will say that during our research of builders we heard bad things about every single company we looked at from SOMEbody. We ended up getting treated like absolute shit by one company in town, who treated our friends amazingly during their build. So it’s just one of those things. Go with who blows your skirt up the most I guess. Lol.
