Especially turbine helicopters I bet! But a Cessna is in the cards sometime in the next 10 years for me, always wanted to fly.

Mine are all gassers

I haven't featured too much on Howard since the last boat show, but I just wanted to show some of the RDP members boats here.. This is ANOTHER 288 with a Teague Custom Marine 1050 in it! Teague tested 110 MPH with a 5 blade.

Bob Teague took me on a test drive in this boat when I was trying to decide on an engine. Needless to say, my 28 SDS has a 1050 in it. It’s a rocket!

With this boat we just approached a million bucks in 3 boats.. This is another 1050 boat.

This particular one just came out of detail and is going to be for sale soon @MaxedOutMarine

The boat only has 15 hours!

This thread makes my little 255 seem like a bargain..
This is one of my all time favorite Howards, it was built by Keith Garlick and sports a Teague Custom Marine 1050. This was the first 288 to break 300K when it was built, and was drop dead gorgeous at the boat show. Should be noted, the boat was built new 3 years ago, was only used a couple times. It is under contract down at @MaxedOutMarine right now being sold to a new owner.

The Gel colors were designed to match the planes.. (yes plural )

sitting in this Howard at the boat show is what made us drop the deposit on our Howard.

Beautiful boats. If I'm in that $300k+ range, with the TCM 1050, that thing better have a Merc 6 drive.

So answer me this..... Why all the 1050 boats being sold all at the same time? Is it because the $$$ is too good. Typically that is not the case when you have the funds....

I would wait on a Freeman. My buddy has a 34’ Freeman, but wants a 37’. There is a year wait. He asked Freeman if there was any way to get it quicker. Freeman says there is no wait on a 47’. So he ordered the 47’. Damn baller!!

I doubt a #6 would fit. The motor has to go forward 12” for the trans. Center of gravity is all different. And a lot of guys out there say a #6 shouldn’t be run in a single application. Nothing wrong with an SCX with that motor.

Who's boat is this? I know it's a members boat, it's from the photoshoot we did a year or two ago?

This is one bad ass Sport Deck! (which you will see is a common theme amongst the RDP members and their Howards. )

I can't speak for all of them, but the first guy is getting a yacht and taking it to Cabo. There is some chance I might end up driving it down there for him.

True story…. In 2015 I was boatless. Went to Howard and sat with gene, twice. Number one build of the 288 was being sanded and the rear transom added, since it was not in the mold yet.
it looked very similar to my magic gel wise
We came to a price of 125k with a 502 and very good options.
gene owned this one since it was a new creation. No flooring stuff.
I passed. Then left a deposit on a Nordic right after.
then son picked his college and got my deposit back (thanks thane)
Now….. I cry.
but college was paid for so that’s a good thing.

gene wanted me to put big power in it so badly. Wasn’t in the budget. Now, 300k 😳

Great pics! They are from April 2020. We did a shoot with Austin on the water with several other boats a week prior.

Boat was fully redone over the winter, Adrenaline refurbished the trailer, Koronowski capped the front and the interior was completely reworked by Unique in Gilbert.

May possibly be up for sale soon as well.

Don't get me wrong, I'd rock that Howard or any other Howard deckboat any day of the week with a B1 and a 496HO.

At that level of $300k+.... my brain starts thinking......If they can put one into a 285 Hallett., anything is possible.

I believe that boat has an NXT transom which has the NXT trans built in, so the motor is in the same place as a bravo boat. But the NXT trans is a weak link anything over 700hp.

But agreed, with enough money there’s a way to get a #6 on there too.

Because going over 75 - 80 in a deck boat sucks with any more than 2 people. It's a wind tunnel. And when you do go fast they are hard on equipment because they are so heavy.

One of the best looking "older" Howard Decks I have ever seen. Thinking a smaller go fast boat so both will fit in the garage?

Wouldn't know, never ridden in one.... Just odd that all 3 built the same time and all list the same time..

The Howard's are the sexiest deck bout around imop.... Just not a 2yr wait for new though....

I don’t think you need one if you aren’t being paid to do it. That said if I did I would take my father in law who has all that.

It is fine, just don't invite any single women out for the day.

Probably selling because they are worth more than they paid for them. Friend of ours have a 2017 with a 565 and it was $165K new I believe.

I also had a 2004 25 Bullet before, Now I’ve purchased your 28 from Paul and its on its way to Shuswap Lake, Canada 👍

Congratulations, I know it’s going to a good home. Bittersweet, I won’t get to deep here but last August of 2020 my wife was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and selling it was the right thing to do. Post up plenty of pictures.

I like the ghosting they did on that one👍
A little more one off than the normal style we see coming out of there.

Yeah I'll second that about the 1050 and an SCX. Totally fine. Biggest concern is flying the drive with bravo style props. If thats a possibility then that can be solved with the SCX with the #6 shaft and props (which can be cut down to reduce the need for the torque tab).

The Eliminator 30' Eagle with the #6 required moving the deck 1 foot forward just to recover the interior space. Also changed the CoG as you mentioned, but running an 18 Rake instead of 15R #6 prop can solve that.

Having grown up in Fl during the 70’s, I still lean heavy to big v hulls but seeing a few of these west coast boats in Sandpoint, I gotta say they are growing on me and are very impressive both in performance and fit & finish.

Thanks LOF, definitely going to be a hard one to let go of.
Now that we have the toon, I’m toying with the idea of a 30’+ closed bow cat with twin OB’s.

You got me..

Absolutely loved this boat and just sold it, had a line of folks with cash in hand.

Completely updated it from its 2006 build, and powered it with TCM1050 and SCX. Many complain about the wind, I was fine with it as it keeps you in check with just how fast your going.

New owner is Absolutely loving it.
