Here in town for a wedding, and holy crap I've never seen so many cops on the road in my life. Should be a good time, pics to follow. Everyone laying low tonight from traveling, and I'm over here like lets freaking party!!!!

Also we got in after Tropical Storm Elsa, so everything is all water logged. Supposed to hit the beach tomorrow and check out downtown Charleston.

Great town, See if you can find a plantation party. Usually, just a band playing on the porch with food and drinks available, but you can check out the land and house.

See some of the towns history, it is well preserved and informative. They have a ship there too with a viet town re created.

The FIL was nice enough he gave us his truck, so we didn't have to pay out of the ass for a rental. Ecoboost F150, I know that gets LOFs nether regions excited.

Avoid North Charleston like the plague. It has one of the highest crime rates in the country. A real shit hole. And it is only a couple miles from quaint little historical Charleston proper. If you're in the general area, be aware of where N Charleston is and stay the hell out of there.

N Charleston 1 in 14 very high crime rate areas in lighter colors much safer. Safe areas, Tons of great places to go and see, family member lived there for a long time and loved it.

We got screwed by Hurricane Dorian when the wife and I planned an anniversary trip down there. Got a note under the door saying to get out the next day. The couple of days we were there were very nice however. I recommend the horse drawn carriage tour, lots of interesting info.

We did ended up here because it was the only 4 bedroom we could find. Then one person canceled, we could have gotten a better house cheaper with a 3 bedroom in a better area. So far so good, just a little dark around here

Well all the girls left to get their nails and toes did, so I'm solo. Where's the spots at, I'm headed to downtown Charleston. What kind of trouble can I get into down there?

Your crime chart appears to be for areas north of Charleston, not the seperate city of North Charleston. My ship once spent considerable time at Detyen's Shipyard, on the Copper River in the middle North Charleston. My crew, made up of very experienced mature guys who had been all over the world including some very undesirable areas/ports, would come back from going ashore and say what a complete shit hole North Charleston was. Personally, I can't even imagine a VRBO in North Charleston. At least the areas I would drive through getting to and from. But, different strokes I guess. Enjoy.

Someone I know who lives there says Mt. Pleasant is nice. Looks like it’s quite aways from N. Charleston.

Isle Palms is the best beach area, Sullivans Island for lunch, restaurants aren't as touristy as Isle Palms.👍🍻

FILs place isn't too shabby, really nice neighborhood. There was about 60 of us there. Had a beer garden area, and people serving us food.

We took a walk through this museum, very very powerfull stuff. This is where slaves were actually traded. They do not allow pictures inside.

The old cigar factory that has been repurposed as a venue, this is where my SIL got married. Really cool old building.

My wife took a lot more photos, as I have done all of the driving. I'll have her send me what she has taken when we get home.

So far the only downside has been my Father in Law loaned us his truck, and I ended up getting a rock chip from a construction vehicle and it cracked his windshield. He told me not to worry about it, but I'm having it washed tomorrow and leaving a thank you card in it with enough $$$$ for a new windshield. He literally saved us a ton of money on a rental, it's the least I could do.
