One of my buddies lives down in Mexico and came across this thing. He is doing a full restoration on it. So here's the deal on it...Scott Chevrolet in Oklahoma City would take brand new trucks from the factory in 1972 and would make them into crew cabs. Kind of a weird looking thing but still cool.

Weird, but still be pretty cool. I'd run it.

Now, your "friend" lives in Mexico, found this truck and is restoring it. Either he's connected, or plans on parking it. It stands out too much in a country that has some...security issues. I'm sure all kinds of "businessmen" would love that thing. Either loaded with illegals, or gunmen, 4x4 and all, pretty useful.

They fucked up the look by putting in 2 front doors. That funky triangle back door gap is lame.

The resto looks good but it looks like a photo chop. Would be cool if they used a suburban.

Thats what I was going to say. Ive seen a few that used a suburban and a couple that maintained the Suburban barn doors as the bulkhead to the bed. Wouldnt really want to carry much in that bed to not mess up the doors, but a pretty cool feature.

The wing windows were good for flicking the ashes out and pulling the smoke out of the cab. Just like rear sliders are great for tossing the empties in the bed.
Flashback to my 89 F150. I was going about 80 up the 99 to see my girlfriend in Fresno. Learned that some sort of magic vortex would throw cans through the rear slider and hit me in the back of the head

In the 80s, I worked for a road construction outfit in Oregon, they had one of those that had a shortened box, like a five foot & the frame hadn't been messed with. IIRC it had that emblem from the Texas dealer as well.

My brother grafted an Excursion on the back of an F650. It’s pretty bitchen. Customer hauled a stacker with vintage race cars.

Dodge did a similar thing in the '60's

Reminds me of the movie 'Fire in the Sky"

The Chevy would be a K-20 Cheyenne

Except that 1968-1972 Suburbans only had 3 doors, so they would still have to fabricate a rear drivers side door.
It wouldnt be too difficult from what I am told. Under the skin of the Sub body there is still a door frame there, just welded into place and skinned over. Again, what I have been told, havent had a chance to investigate myself.
