I camped next to him (Land Speed Racer on the boards). I could swear he told me the motor is a small block. Am I remembering correctly?

He said it was to bypass the turbos due to back pressure for (I think he said) starting the motor and idling for warm up. When he is running, the valve is closed.

that thing looks insane... i wonder the type of power it puts out and is giant contraption the ONLY way to get there? im sure having small turbos keeps spool time down since you cant stage like a car...

talk about a nightmare if you need to pull a valve cover... heh.

The answer is yes. It was the first day out with a new motor and the water was pretty rough...so hard passes.
